Prologue
It was the preamble of the Saint War. The dëusdanos, people of the planet D’Éldieu, had forgotten their gods, those who had given them every single possible gift. Those temples that once were used for praising the gods in gratitude, were now abandoned. The gods, on the other hand, didn’t care about this, thus for them, the mortals were just a circus for their entertainment.
Nevertheless, the dëusdanos started to challenge the gods, destroying their temples, demolishing their statues, and destroying their creations. For the dëusdanos it represented nothing doing such things, they thought that the gods wouldn’t do anything, because they never had interrupted their doings before, but this time was different, Éldieu, the supreme god, got mad at them and started a war against them, so they could be punished for what have they done.
Chapter I. The Presentation
Éldieu summoned every single god to the reunion chamber in his castle. Everyone was there to discuss their creator’s fury. Once every god was in there, Éldieu stood up in the center of the chamber and began to speak.
- Gods, I have summoned you here to end the problem of the dëusdanos, they have been hurting us, and we cannot stand still with this. – Éldieu said with assurance as if he was giving an order to the gods.
- My lord, even though we cannot stand still against this, we must look for a pacific way to solve this problem. – Vittâ, the goddess of life, spoke.
- My lord, if I can intervene, I think we already gave those bastards enough freedom, we have ignored various offenses, I think it’s the moment to attack so they learn who is above them. – Wirra, the god of war replied.
After this, the chamber was filled with noise, Éldieu had had enough of this situation.
- Silence! – The voice of the supreme god vanished from the noise. – I am the creator of everything, I am the one who rules the gods and the mortals, the life and the deaths, and in here everyone would do as I say so. Tomorrow morning, we will descend to D’Éldieu, and we will offer the dëusdanos the last opportunity to redeem themselves. If they accept, there would be no further discussions, but, if they refuse, we will prepare ourselves for a war against them. Is that clear?
Everyone nodded, Éldieu showed off his immense power and authority over the other gods. No one said anything, no one refused, and they all left waiting for the sunrise.
The sun rose for the dëusdanos, for them, it was a normal day. Little did they know what was about to come.
In a brief moment, the sky began rumbling. The rumble was so intense that it was heard all around the globe, everyone was paralyzed. Above them they could see a giant crack forming dividing the clouds, every second it was getting bigger and bigger. Some silhouettes were seen coming from that crack, descending from it, and landing on a hill that was nearby a city. Normally, the dëusdanos gather up on that hill to see what was happening, some people started recording the moment with their cellphones, making the moment worldwide. The silhouettes landed and one approached the people, making its features more remarkable.
- Dëusdanos, before you, it’s the god that gave you life the one who thrones above everyone and everything, the one who rules the gods. – When Éldieu pronounced those words, there was a silence in the crowd. – We the gods, have come here to demand your loyalty like we used to have in the Cambrian Era, all the way to the Abandon Era when you forgot about us, the ones who gave you everything that you have. – After finishing speaking, the dëusdanos started laughing at him. The silence was replaced with the laughs and giggling of the people.
- They think they’re gods, poor of them. – The laughs continued, the gods weren’t surprised at all. While the people continued mocking, Wirra approached Éldieu and whisper in his ear.
- My lord, they’re making fun of us, we need to make them realize that we are no joke. – Hearing those words, Éldieu warned the dëusdanos one more time.
- This is your last offense, kneel before us or prepare for the consequences. – The words of the god had zero effect on the crowd.
Éldieu was furious seeing that his words were no longer respected, so he raised his hand with the palm open, and aimed it at a hill that was across the city, one by one, he closed each finger of his hand, except for the index, making it look like a gun.
- Bang… - Mimicking the sound of a gun, and imitating the shot of one, Éldieu was ignored by the dëusdanos. The dëusdanos didn’t care about what the god have done. It was in a matter of seconds when a huge explosion was heard, but looking at it, it was more of an implosion. Everyone turned around to see the hill, it was reduced to debris, and the debris started to gather around in the center of what it used to be, floating from the ground, collapsing on one another, and finally disappearing, leaving just a crater.
- Dëusdanos, for your offenses against us, we have no other choice but to declare war, you better prepare yourselves, because we will show no mercy. – Éldieu and the other gods flew to the crack where they came from. Éldieu was the last one to enter, and once he did, he closed that crack while seeing the dëusdanos dumbfounded and shaking in fear for what was going to come.
