Okay, I’m not sure how to start my story, but I think I saved the universe!
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up in Beirut, Lebanon. The city of never-ending parties, as the locals call it. I was fortunate to be born into a successful and loud family. The Najm Clan is a large family that lives throughout Lebanon, primarily in Beirut.
My family is well-known throughout the region as Lebanese media moguls. I have no idea how the entire family is so talented and wealthy; it is beyond belief how powerful they are. Sometimes I believe they are mafia members, but they look too delicate and geeky to be so.
My grandfather Wael, the family patriarch, had a strange rule that everybody who turned twenty-five had to throw a lavish celebration at the family palace in Jounieh city. That is not a weird thing; it is how the celebration unfolds. It always gives me chills since it gives the impression of a celebration of a teenager finally reaching puberty.
This past week, I was a nervous wreck because I was the last one to turn twenty-five. My mother cried over the phone about how proud she was of me all week. My father remarked several times that they knew I would be the one who made them the proudest, aside from my brothers.
At the time, I assumed Dad meant that I was finally joining the company. By the way, this is Mr. Wael Najm’s second rule. Regardless, everyone in this family works in the family business. Given how large it is, it’s actually not that bad.
My three older brothers and their wives congratulated me and wished me a nice ride. Nonetheless, it wasn’t a particularly significant occurrence to elicit such strong reactions.
After a week, I finally figured out what was going on. They all wished to have me. The one who was born into their family after centuries. The person who, by pure coincidence, saved the universe.
So… Please join me as I will tell you my story before it’s too late. Actually, the story will be shown to you either way.
P.S: To future me; please be from ride number five! Also, don’t wear heels that day!
