Healing a Broken Boys Soul

Chapter 1-1

Chapter 1-1

Jul 17, 2019

For as long as I can remember I’ve always been different from all the guys in my class. I always hear them talking about their latest girlfriend or how cute some other girl is, but I haven’t ever seen them as cute or anything. I mean sure they are cute, but I’m not attracted to them in any way. Of course I have friends that are guys and girls of course but I just don’t know if something is wrong with me. I’m only in fourth grade and people talk about this all the time. I debated about telling my friends about this, but I just don’t feel comfortable telling them that.

It wasn’t until the middle of the year that I finally got a crush on someone. Not just someone a super-hot…. guy. I don’t know if I was dropped on my head when I was younger but he’s really cool and looks cute. So I built up the courage to tell my mom about him.

“Hey momma, can I talk to you?” I asked trying to get her attention. She recently just got married to my step dad a little bit ago and she has been spending a lot of time with my twin step sisters. As long as she’s happy I’m happy.

“Yes dear?” She asked still playing dollies with the twins.

“Can I talk to you?”

“you’re talking to me right now.” She said and did a weird flying motion with the doll.

“Alone?” I asked getting nervous.

“Uh sure honey. I’ll be right back girlies.” She said still not totally paying attention to me.

We walked silently to my bedroom and then she finally looked at me for the first time. “Sweetie you aren’t jealous right? I’m just trying to please your new sisters.” She said as if that would bother me.

“No momma. As long as you’re happy, I’m happy.” I said and smiled

“So… what did want to ask me then?”

“I um wanted to tell you something.” I said fidgeting with my fingers

“Stop fooling around and tell me then.” She said it kind of harshly, but I didn’t really think anything of it.

“Well…well I have a crush on someone.” I said and looked at her.

“That’s wonderful baby. Who is she? What does she look like?”

“Um... uhm well actually it’s a he.” I said looking at the floor.

“What do you mean?” Her sweet voice was now ice cold.

“I like a boy” I said and looked up at her face.
