Heaven At Bar 8

Strange Coincidence

Strange Coincidence

Nov 04, 2018

“Keeper, please another one,” Timothy said. His dark eyes looked shallow, shivered without focus and his iris dull, without color. His golden brown hair fell down on his forehead and had no hold. “Just another thing that goes wrong,” he said to himself. His usually lightly toned skin was absolute pale, his cheeks red. His T-Shirt totally drenched, wet from something. But anything else was dry. “You sure buddy? A break would be good, wouldn't it?” the bartender said. He had a bald head, a mustache above his wide lips and a pretty big stomach under his shirt. “Nah, I’m good. Please.I just need it,” Timothy said. The pale guy looked at him with pity. Something terrible happened, he could feel it, since no one, not even the saddest people here, ever looked like that. He gave him another drink. “Just don’t do anything messy, all right?” The golden haired only nodded.

‘What else could go wrong today? I really wanna find out.’ He spaced out, watched the people outside, the traffic on the streets and the lights. Red, yellow, blue, green. ‘Beautiful. Has something magical.’ And it started raining. A loud, roaring thunder echoed through the room. For a moment, everybody stopped, whether the guys playing pool or poker. Anybody stopped, started looking on the entrance. Where a small, slender boy walked through, totally soaked.

“Oh, hello?” he said, while getting stared at, by all. Many just nodded, some did nothing and went back to their game, some kept staring. Timothy didn’t even bother. Until that little boy sat next to him. “Hey. Are you good today?” he asked, with a bright smile. His brown, dark hairs fell down to his forehead as well. Terrible, just like your hair,” Timothy said. The little boy had a checkered, long sleved shirt, grey and red. Absolutely soaked just like his black pants. “Thanks… I guess, since we have the same style just now.”

The bartender approached them. “Good evening, young boy. Mind if I take a look at your ID?” The little boy smiled again and took his purse. “Of course not. I know, I look younger than I am.” Timothy didn’t had the best mood so far, and it even got worse. “Why are you here?” he asked the boy.

“Started raining, and I wanted a drink.” The pale man gave him a gin tonic. “Here, for free.”

“Thank you?” the litte boy said while smiling. It was a surprise, and the look he gave them both as well. "No I actually ment, why are you here? Right here... next to me?" The little boy didn't pay much attention, instead he just took a sip and shrugged his shoulders. The golden-haired grabbed his glass tightly.

“Never mind. I just got here, three days ago.”

Timothy interrupted, “three days? Really? Well perfect...” The boy looked at him, like asking if he was deaf or such. “Yeah… exactly. In four days, I’ll start my first job, for now I just get myself a little used to here. And then I found you. A whiny man, sulking about something. That’s interesting.” Timothy stared at him. He was barely able to realize what he just said.

“You’re harsh. Thought you’re just a wimp.” The boy took a sip and ate some of the nuts on the counter. “No actually I’m a heart-warming person. You’d love me, if you’d not try to vent your anger on me.” They both laughed. The golden haired did not expect to really laugh at this day. Or ever again. "Sure, if you say so," he said and patted the boy's shoulder.

“Look, I had a terrible day. Most terrible in my life. Just enjoy your time here, without my miserable business.” He drank the rest of his drink and stood up. But the little boy grabbed his sleeve. “My name is Chandler. Then how about making it my business too? Let of some steam” he said. And his smile went even brighter. Not just a simple one, he literally emitted some warmth from his lips up to his eyes. ‘Such a beautiful color,’ the golden haired thought. “Is it green?” he asked, mostly himself. “No it’s a really dark blue. Pretty ugly, right?” Chandler said.

“Not really. They’re extremely dark, but shine. Like the night sky full of stars. It looks beautiful.” The blue eyed got absolutely red. And let go of Timothy’s sleeves. “Mind telling me now?” he asked, while avoiding eye contact.

Creator

Ok screw the old description... hi:) I'm Brownie (not literally) and I'm the creator of this humble, little story. My first participation for a NaWriMo... I'm excited for the experience I may gain, and for all the stories everyone here makes^^
I'm still in my toddler shoes, so do not hesitate to give me any (constructive pls:p) criticism, I want to improve:)

The story will probably update once a week. I try to keep writing constantly, and schedule the updates on... maybe Friday? Saturday? I don't know yet.
The first three chapters will be written the next days, maybe now?:) Want to put the first climax online, the real beginning of the story.

I plan to write a lot... I hope I can come up with enough ideas ^<^
farewell, and have a good day, precious reader!

-Brownie (sorry for the exaggeration...)
