The world of Sers was peaceful for a very long time, but that all changed with the death of the dragon empress. She was the keeper of balance and without her the creatures of shadows appeared.

They were soon to be known as the haunted, they were endless and kept attacking villages worldwide. 10 Great leaders came together to create an alliance, an alliance to share all technology and magic to form safe havens for all survivors. After 30 years of strive they had a grand success. The combination of a barrier spell and a containment technology. This formed a strong barrier that couldn't be breached without proper procedure.

With the survival of mankind in mind the 10 leaders created the Grand Capitals. The first capital made was Erifona (The city of the forest), second was Skyler (The city of the sky), afterwards came Baldgourd (City of the Mountains) and The Imperial Capital. All other leaders were attacked by Haunted and failed to create a new city, however there was one special leader among those 6 defeated ones. Lord Atlas was the son of the dragon empress and was able to create his grand city of Atlantica. This city was rather different from the other cities, it was created under water and built itself from the ground up. The very core of this city wasn't the barrier core but the soul of the dragon empress reborn in the crystal of light. The walls of the barrier surrounding Atlantica pushed back the water and held back the Haunted.

100 years after the creation of Atlantica something special had happened, humanity had slightly recovered from the losing battle against the Haunted and a new creature had appeared. It was neither a foe nor ally. It was named the Kindred for its very core instinct was to reap the souls of those to die soon. Human or Haunted alike none were a match for this beast.

Little is known of this creature for it is a monster with a light and dark side. The story goes that this is a part of the dragon empress returning to complete her tasks. Yet no one thinks the kindred is a creature to be accepted and there for the beast has been locked away time after time in a crystal capsule deep under the capital of Atlantica.
