I run down the steps and to the living room where my mother stands waiting for me. 

« Good morning, Roberta. »

« My name is Bobby! B-O-B-B-Y! »

« Roberta, there’s something you need to know. I enrolled you at Miss Petunias’ school for young ladies. »

« WHAT? What? what.... I’m depressed now. »

« Roberta Elisa Jono. Don’t speak me like that. In this year of 1923 you are a young teenager and you have to learn the things that young women should know and Miss Petunias’ school the best boarding school in the country.»

« ITS A BOARDING SCHOOL?!??! »

« Yes. I hope you like it. Here’s a list of things you need. You have one week to  prepare yourself. Then you’ll take the train to Mugville, where the school is located. »

« This is a prank, right? »

« Well it’s not funny. I know I’m a «young lady », and all, but I’ll remind you that I’m currently depressed. I’m not going, and that’s final. »

« Did I forget to mention that you’ll need a uniform, too? It’s pink. »
