(Warning: this story will contain cuss words and sensitive topics please be advised) 

I was five when something or someone broke into my room and cursed me to be invisible to everyone and everything. I could do whatever I wanted when I wanted. I didn't have to go to school anymore and see all of those assholes who went there. I could rob a store and no one would notice. I was alone, but I liked it that way. I didn't have to speak unless I wanted to, not that I had anyone to talk to, but that was until I met him. 

But let's not get ahead of ourselves here and let's start from the night I was cursed shall we. 

“Get to bed” my mother's powerful voice boomed in my bedroom. “Ok momma” I replied letting out a sigh of sadness. As she turned to walk out of my room I called out “can you please tuck me into bed momma.” She turned towards me and swiftly walked over to tuck me in with a really angry look written all over her face. “Now go to bed Alex” she yelled at me, turning away from me stomping her way out of my room. “Yes momma” I replied under my breath as a single hot tear fell down my cheek and hit the pillow. 

A few hours had passed since my mom had tucked me in and I had passed out. But I heard my window creak, I got scared and covered my head with my blanket to try and fall back asleep. It couldn't have even been two minutes before I decided to peek my head out from under my soft blanket to see what had come inside just so that I could confirm there was nothing and fall asleep again. But boy was I wrong, as I slowly gazed over to the corner of my bedroom I saw a tall black shadowy figure with big glowing blue eyes. It appeared to be looking right at me.  It started to walk toward me, as I got a closer look I saw that the shadow figure had long skinny legs and I could see its rib cage. It was so thin and looked starved with long black hair and of course the glowing blue eyes that made me feel “safe.” 

“Don't be afraid little one” , that voice said. The voice resembled that of a woman's voice but was scratchy and higher pitched it shook me to the core. “I can rescue you from your pain and sorrow.” The scratchy voice continued. “W-wait really” I timidly whispered back as I slowly pulled my blanket from over my head. “Of course little child, all you have to do is shake my hand.” The shadow laughed like a crazy person for a few seconds then looked me in the eyes. “All you have to do is get up and shake my hand, simple as that” the shadow said matter of factly. “Ok” I said as I slowly got out of my bed. “Now give me your hand” the shadow said, not breaking eye contact with me. The shadow held out its hand, the fingers connected to that hand were so boney and ugly, something that only a mother could love. But I timidly lifted my hand up to go in for a hand shake. The shadow swiftly grabbed my hand. I looked at our hands in fear. When I look back at the shadow it's eyes were no longer the warm and welcoming blue they were now red and full of hate. “You stupid boy” the shadow laughed at me while grasping my hand tighter. “You've now made a deal with me.” It said while throwing it's head slightly back with laughter. “What kind of deal did we make?” I yelled while crying pure tears of fear. “Oh you stupid fucking child, I've rescued you from your pain caused by the people of the world.” The creature paused to laugh at me. “People will no longer see you, you will be invisible to all the people of the world, cursed to be alone for all of eternity.” It laughed at me again causing me to cry even harder than before. “stupid child you'll never be seen again you'll never feel the pain that the people around the world have caused you.” It paused to look me in the eyes, it then let go of my hand. “Our deal is now permanent and can never be broken.” it laughed again while slowly dissipating into thin air before It finally disappeared.

I dropped to the floor looking at my hand. My eyes were blurry and sore from the tears that fell from them. “I'm so stupid” I cried to myself while more and more tears fell from my face. A few hours later i forced myself to get up and get in my bed.I felt so stupid but thankfully it only took a few hours for me to fall asleep.
