Illegal Awakener (A Distort)
Information/Background
Gates entered the world 20 years ago. It had caused the Great Ending (many monsters/creatures exiting the dungeons) and almost destroyed humanity, until people awakened skills that helped them fight back. It took four years for the world to rebuild itself and welcome a new era of awakeners/hunters. After everything calmed down, some awakeners started abusing their powers against civilians, causing the Hunter Association to be born. The Association was the police, judge, and executor over all awakens; they held power and restored peace between the awakens and civilians. But, over the years, as everything started to evolve more, the Hunter Association grew greedy with power, causing awakeners to leave and start Guilds (which are independently owned), lowering the power of the Association.
Now, after twenty years, a new danger is erupting, which will make the Great Ending child’s play.
-
After the Great Ending, awakenings start happening around 12; not everyone awakens. [There are only 42% awakeners in the world, and it is steadily decreasing.]
-
Not every awakener becomes a hunter; some skills are suited—others are not. Plus, it also depends on what class they are in.
-
There is a Hunter Academy [12-21]. Every Awakener can attend, but if they do not show the quality of a hunter, they are kicked out.
-
Awakened officers who only deal with awakeners are called Divisions.
-
All awakeners must register with the Hunter’s Association for the safety of civilians. They receive special IDs.
-
A civilian can illegally awaken by entering a Gate; however, there is a 37% chance it will work.
-
Illegal human experiments are happening to create hunters.
-
Unnatural Awakeners are called a Distort.
-
Distorts can become Hunters, but they are discriminated against, because even though they unlock skills, their skill level is unknown, so they are known as a U-Class (unknown class). Only a few end up with strong skills, enough to become a hunter, while most do not.
-
Gates range from Level One to Level Five. Level One is easy, barely any danger (used commonly as practiced), and Level Five is extremely high with a 90% chance of a dungeon break.
-
Class levels only go from F to S, unless the person is an unknown class [there are no S+ or national levels], while skill levels go from FF to L.
-
Everybody has four skills that average out to make their class level. Some people do have one skill that differs from their other skills. But, most of the time, the skills are under an umbrella.
-
L skills are extremely rare. L skills may be the strongest OP skill, but each L skill has a weakness.
-
Note: the country names will be made up, as I did not want to use real geography.
