Life had always been a walk over for pretty Anna Hartsen till one day.
The sun had just started to set, casting a warm orange glow over the city. People rushed to get home after a long day of work, their footsteps echoing through the empty streets. Among them was a young woman named Anna Hartsen. She was walking briskly, her head down, lost in thought. Her long brown hair whipped around her face in the wind, but she paid it no mind. She had just received some disappointing news about her job, and she couldn't shake the feeling of failure.
As she turned the corner, she nearly collided with a tall, broad-shouldered man. They both stopped in their tracks, staring at each other in surprise. Anna couldn't help but notice the man's striking deep sapphire eyes and the way his dark hair fell messily over his forehead. He looked like he had just stepped out of a magazine. She quickly averted her gaze, feeling her cheeks flush.
"I'm sorry," she murmured, taking a step back.
The man smiled warmly. "No need to apologize. Are you okay?"
Anna nodded, suddenly feeling self-conscious about the tear streaks on her cheeks. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just had a bad day."
The man's expression softened. "I'm sorry to hear that. Do you want to talk about it?"
Anna hesitated, but something about the man's demeanor put her at ease. "I just found out I didn't get a promotion I was hoping for. It's silly, I know, but it feels like a huge blow to my self-esteem."
The man's eyes flashed with sympathy. "I can understand that. I've been there myself. But don't let it get you down. You're obviously talented and hardworking. You'll get another opportunity soon."
Anna couldn't help but feel grateful for the stranger's kind words. "Thank you. That means a lot."
They stood there for a few more moments, the silence comfortable between them. Then the man extended his hand. "I'm Luke, by the way."
"Anna ," she replied, shaking his hand.
Luke's smile widened. "Well, Anna, it was nice to meet you. Maybe I'll run into you again sometime."
Anna smiled back, feeling a twinge of disappointment at the thought of not seeing him again. "Maybe you will."
As Luke William walked away, Anna couldn't help but glance back at him. Something about their encounter had left her feeling hopeful, as if maybe things would start looking up for her after all.
Little did she know, their chance meeting would be the start of a series of events that would change the course of her life forever.
They say loving is worrying waiting and being more so but what happens when the once chasing becomes the being chased. Meet Anna Hartsen a soft hearted woman who gets intertwined in the world of mysterious Luke Williams.
