There was a little demon
Who snuck inside my head
He bounced around and whispered
“I wish that you were dead”
He bounced around some more
And shook me to my core,
Till I whispered back
“I can handle more”
And so he leaped and cursed
Jumping up with glee
He said so very terse
“I can be much worse”
So he danced and sang and versed
An evil little curse
But never once did I
Bend or break or burst
And when he grew tired
He fell upon the floor
I knocked him out my head
And kicked him out the door.
So this I say to you
All you demons, devils, dooms
Feel free to come inside
But know that there’s no room
Not the reason or the rhyme
Neither day or neither time
For me to keep or you to stay
Living in my mind.
