You can't see anything except darkness. Waiting for your eyes to adjust you notice the strong sweet smell in the air. It's overwhelming. Then you start regaining your vision. The first thing you see are two small hands covered in blood. It doesn't take long for you to realize they're your hands, but somehow they remind you of a child's. You look up to see the silhouette of a woman who you immediately recognize as your mother. You run toward her, tears blurring your vision. You dry the tears away to see clearly.
When you open your eyes again your mother is lying on the floor, dead. She has two holes in the side of her neck with blood streaming down. There are also various other cuts and wounds all over her body. All of the blood from the various wounds collected in a big pool of blood, in which you could see your own reflection. You could immediately see that you were a younger version of yourself, around 8 years old. The disturbing part was that you were covered in a dark, thick fluid from head to toe. You don't even need to think to realize it was blood. In fear you start backing away from the corpse, only to stumble over something.
Looking down you see that you're in yet another pool of blood, and the thing that you stumbled on was none other than the corpse of your father. He had similar wounds to those of your mother and you started to panic even more. Looking up the surrounding of your old house was gone and you could see the stars of the night sky. In front of you was a man with brown eyes, glasses and long brown hair in a ponytail. He was holding out his hand for you, and you reached out to grab it with your bloodstained one.
"Miss (l/n)!" your teacher shouts in an annoyed tone, waking you from your not so peaceful sleep. "Is my lesson really that uninteresting?" he asks, very aware of the fact that you had fallen asleep. "No, not at all sir. I believe you're an excellent teacher, but since I already know all about what you're teaching today, I thought it'd be a waste of time learning it again" you explain, wanting to go back to sleep again. Everyone stared at you like you'd just killed someone, not that you really cared.
"Well, Miss (l/n). If you know this subject so well, why don't you come up and solve this equation on the board?" he asked, obviously getting annoyed with your cocky behavior. Without another word you accepted his challenge and walked up to the board. Within a few seconds you had flawlessly solved the equation and you turned around to the teacher with a smirk. "Is that right, sir?" you ask, mockingly. He furrows his brows and you can see how the pen in his hand could break at any moment. After calming down he decides to answer in a collected tone. "Well, Miss (l/n). If you know this subject that well, why don't you teach it to the rest of the class?" he asks, wanting to shut you up for good. "I'm afraid I'm not qualified to teach, and besides, I know I could never make a better lesson than you, sir" you retort calmly and ironically before returning to your seat.
As you sit down, Mizuki is staring at you. "Do you have a deathwish?!?" she asks in a hushed tone. It's rare to see her upset, but seeing as this is not the first time you've pulled a stunt like this, it's understandable. Because of this, you simply shrug your shoulders at her before going back to your own thoughts.
You wondered what that nightmare was all about, of course you understood the content, but you didn't understand why you dreamt it. It was around that age your parents were killed, but according to the police it was by a serial killer, now executed for his crimes. And then there are those strange marks on their necks. They almost look like bite marks, but what kind of animal would bite humans in the side of the neck? You'd thought about this many times since you started having that dream, and the only thing you could think of was a vampire, but everyone knew those didn't exist. Your memories weren't really to that much help, since there were gaps in them. The doctors told you that they were caused by trauma, but you weren't as sure. Something about their theories felt a bit... off.
You're awoken from your deep thoughts, that almost turned into sleep, by Mizuki gently poking your shoulder. "(f/n)... Me, Shoko and Minami are going to go watch the night class head to class, are you coming with?" she asks politely, even though you can clearly see that she wants you to come along for once. "You know we aren't even allowed to do that, Mizuki..." you say with a heavy sigh. Even though those three are technically your only 'friends', and also your best friends (that title was self proclaimed) you didn't really feel like spending all your time with them. You could handle Mizuki, due to the fact that she was so quiet, but Minami and Shoko were killing you with their energy overflow.
"It's fine, everyone does it, and they never do anything about it" she explained for what felt like the millionth time. "Need I remind you that I'm not here to stare at men who just so happens to be rather attractive. I'm only here for my education's sake" you say, putting your books together and standing up. "But you're not gonna study anywayyyy!" she whined. "You're just gonna sleep early so you can sit up reading all night!" She seemed pretty upset that you never wanted to spend time with them, but you knew she'd be over it by tomorrow, like always. "Yup, exactly" you say before turning on your heel and walking out.
When you arrived at the room you shared with Mizuki, Minami and Shoko, you went straight to bed. You were unsure why, but for some reason you had a hard time falling asleep when the sun had went down, and due to your bad health you needed the rest.
Authors note! Hope you enjoyed this first chapter. I realized a while ago there weren't many fanfics for this particulair vampire, and seing as I developed something of a crush on him (hence the reason I was even looking for fanfics with him to begin with) I decided I would make this. I hope you'll like it and bare with me until the end of this story. //Yours truly, Handsomesquid :3
