The land of the rising sun, Nihon, stood as the centre stage for the warring states for over a hundred years. Countless lives perished and rivers of bloodshed as the leading clans fought for dominance. Out of the century of chaos came a period of peace defined by a rise in the economy, arts, and culture. To maintain peace as well as strengthen relations, several clans reconciled with one another and formed alliances. One such coalition to arise was between the Kasai and Inazuma clans of the Fire and Lightning regions, respectively.
The prince of the Inazuma clan at the time married the princess of the Kasai clan, and they had two sons. Twenty-five years later, the oldest son, Kazuma, succeeded his mother as the daimyo upon her death. Kazuma’s son–Kazuo, would later grow to resent him for being absent in his life. However, the masses adored Kazuma as he excelled as the ruler of the region.
Four years into his reign, Kazuma placed Kazuo under the tutelage of his most trusted samurai. General Rohan became a role model and father figure to the young heir. Alas, the troublesome prince garnered the title ‘purple-haired brat’ for his mischievous acts. Kazuo’s escapades ranged from the trivial to the more serious that ultimately resulted in him being exiled from Kaen village…
