Over one hundred years ago, vampires were hated by every person, human and non human. It was said that the vampires abused their strength and powers, they were quick to kill anyone who stood in their way, even going as far as destroying towns and and entire states. They instilled fear wherever they went, killing millions and still hungry for more. But of course there were some vampires who didn't agree to all the killing.

 A small group of vampires were tired of the constant killing of innocents and decided to fight back. Even though it took a few years, they gathered a large army, filled with all kinds of creatures, and started a battle against the vampires who murdered for sport. The fighting lasted three nights but in the end, they annihilated most of the vampire race. Many lost their lives to bring relief and peace to the world. The vampires who were left alive formed four houses/clans, each with a different role in society to keep history from repeating itself. 

 The Alina clan became the most powerful, which meant more authority and some began to even call them "Nobles" due to the way they carried themselves. The house of Ignatius was the second strongest, most of the vampires in there were ones who fought in the war. Although the Alina clan were able create, if approved by the other houses, laws, the roles of these two were judgement. They decided whether one was to be punished and how. The house of Rene was the third strongest, they were in charge of implementing punishments. They received the nickname "Reapers" because some of the punishments they had to inflict was death. Throughout the years, people began to fear them. The Thetis house was in charge of making sure the laws and rules were followed and reporting the ones who didn't follow.

 Years passed, some vampires separated from the main houses and created their own. The Alina clan and Thetis house disbanded not long after and the house of Ignatius was weakened significantly, having a little more than half of their original size. Only the house of Rene was slightly weakened, due to no one wanting to be a "Reaper" the others left the role to those already there and to whoever that would be born in that house. 

 Now, vampires live among the other species without any discrimination or fear of the past repeating. Even though most of the race was annihilated in the war, vampires are now third in highest population with werewolves being second and humans being first. Everyone is told the history of the war in school and that it will not happen again as long as laws and rules are followed or the "Reapers" will come find you.
