''Ohh no do you go back today'' She says 

''No I just wore my uniform for fun'' I mutter sarcastically, ''Yes I go back today'' 

''I should probably get dressed then shouldn't I'' she says

''Yes I think that would be a good idea''

Mum leaves the kitchen to get dressed and I finish my shreddies and get the rest of my things ready before pulling my reddish brown hair back into my usual ponytail, grabbing my headphones and playing Girl in Red. Just then mum arrives at the front door and we head out to the car.

We arrive at my school, Maplewood Academy, just on time and I sprint into the building I arrive in my form room, G25, just as our form teacher, Mrs Weaver calls my name.

''Here'' I say panting as I take my seat between my two best friends, Olive Taylor and James Finn, Olive has pale skin, blue eyes and long flowing black hair. She is quite short. Olive is the sort of girl you expect to be hanging out with the popular group, the sort of people who have really rich parents and won't talk to you if you wear the wrong things. Olive looks like she could fit in with them, she's pretty and her parents own a big company but she is actually a genuinely nice person and chooses to hang out with me and James no matter how many invites Christina Brown gives her to join her group.

James is quite different compared to Olive he has short kind of gingerbread coloured hair and green eyes. James is much quieter than Olive and a lot less outgoing. James has a boyfriend in our year but in another class who is incredibly sweet and him and James seem to be meant for eachother. It makes me quite jealous as I have never had the chance to have a boyfriend or girlfriend, as well as James and his soulmate, sorry I mean boyfriend Olive has gone through at least 5 or 6 boyfriends. 

I'm snapped out of my trance by Olive going "Hey, May why were you late you're usually like the first one here" 

"Oh yeah my mum and I both just forgot it was the end of half term and I had to go to school today lol" I say

"Ahh that makes sense, I almost forgot today but I wake up really early so it wasn't a problem"

"Olive, May be quiet," Mrs Weaver grumbles

"Sorry Mrs Weaver!" we both say and listen to the announcements.

"Finally breaktime!" James says in an exasperated tone as we emerge from double science. I get out my phone and decide to text Lili, my online friend of 2 years. 

M: Omg I just had double science I think I'm about to die

L:  Seriously!? DOUBLE science why would they put you through that on your first day back

M: Idk maybe beacause it's our timetable?

L:  Nahh I think your teachers are just evil

M: I mean that is very possible, are you back to school today?

L: I'm not our school is giving us an extra day off for teacher training

M: SERIOUSLYY?! luckyyyy

L: HA sucks to be you lmao 

M: I HATE YOU

L: Same back to you girly xx

M: I have to go to maths now ttyl

L: ouch! maths and science you really do have a terrible first day back, ttyl
