When Karah got to school. She realized that she was a lot shorter than all of the other kids. She tugged on her mom's shirt and asked “Mommy, why is everyone so big?” As her mom, Darla started to smile she said “You're just not there yet honey.” Then, Karah started to smile, a big smile. When Karah got to her classroom and met her teacher, Mr. Harold, she was a little scared, she realized that there were a lot of big kids, she was the smallest one in her class. The day went by fast, as Karah started to learn about her ABC's she could already sing all the way to O. When recess time came she was alone. No one wanted to play with her. Then Karah walked up to a boy named Zander, she said: “Hi, I’m Karah what's your name?” Zander was not very happy that she was trying to talk to him, so he started to ask her questions like, Why are you so short? Why is your name so weird? Karah didn’t know how to answer those questions so she ran away crying. As Karah sat alone wondering why she was so different, a girl walked up to her. She said “Hello, I’m Ashley, what's your name?’ Karah looked up and saw Ashley. She was very surprised. Ashley was beautiful and tall. Karah said, “Hello Ashley I’m Karah.” Ashley smiled and said “It’s nice to meet you Karah. Why are you crying?” Karah looked back at her tear covered knees and said “Why don’t people like me? Am I weird?” Ashley looked down at Karah and wondered why she felt this way. Ashley said “I like you, I think you're really pretty, And I don’t think you're weird, let’s be friends.” Karah looked up at Ashley and smiled “okay”. Karah and Ashley were best friends, they stood up for each other no matter what. They had sleepovers every weekend. When Karah and Ashley started middle school, they were scared, but they knew no matter what they would be there for each other. Karah was still really short, Ashley was even taller than before, but they were a great duo. Ashley was in Mrs. Casron’s class and Karah was in Miss. Keppy’s class. They were disappointed that they weren’t in the same class but they knew that wouldn’t affect their friendship. They would meet up at lunch and walk home together after school. When Karah got to class she took her seat and opened a blank notebook.
