“Opening the record for the events of April 18th, 2017. Do you two understand that I will clarify and ask you to clarify subjects for the record, no matter how redundant they may be?” a human woman in a worn navy blue pantsuit says as she sets down a large file and unknown drink onto a table.

“We aren’t fuggin’ morons. We know how criminal interrogations go.” Sitting across the woman is a blue skinned man with glowing purple tattoos. Physically beautiful and wearing a pure white suit. “Besides, we already knew this was coming so let’s just get this over with.”

Sitting next to him, an ordinary but beautiful latinx woman with glowing gold eyes, wearing a black and gold suit. “Please.” shooting a look at the man with him tossing his hands up.

“I am Agent Becca Wash, please state your names, positions, and race/class for the record.” motioning for them to do so.

The woman speaks first, “Robin Victoron, former member of the one o’s, current co-leader of the newly reformed Victoron family. Human subclass mana user .”

“Malice or Mal for short. Former lieutenant of Mayhem and current co-leader of the newly reformed Victoron family. Tetran.”

The woman across the table looks up at Mal, “and please explain what a Tetran is. For the record.”

“Oh for the love of. What?! You want a history lesson too?”

Robin takes his hand and after a moment, he calms down and continues.

“Fine. In 1945, the U.S tested its first nuclear bomb. What they didn’t or rather couldn’t have foreseen was the thin dimensional barrier at the testing site. The planet was flooded by strange energy that mutated people into hundreds of wholly distinct species which we now call the Rebirth. Eventually, the mutations leveled out to the roughly two hundred species we have now. Each being divided into two categories, class and race. Class is when humans gain the powers of a mutation race. Race is the ability and physical mutations.”

“Tetrans evolved to be able to absorb the energy we later called Mana, resulting in blue skin and we glow in various ways.” He says as he points to his glowing neon sign tattoo. “We also gained immense strength, speed, and agility as a result of the internalized Mana needing a way to be used.”

Finally reaching the page she was looking for. “Right. Now, how did this all begin?”

Robin speaks up, “well it started when we, the One O’s, got a call from the Technoids.”

“Technoids?”

“The Columbian based group of hackers with the technomancer Class. They recently set up shop here in West Cliff, on account of the cities’ alternate approach to crime and how it handles mutations.” Robin says with a smile.

“They contacted us with a proposition. The previous leaders were to meet them at a location of their choice and we would be given the means to take down our rivals, Mayhem.”

“It was obviously a trap but those old bastards were so wrapped up in their stuff that they didn’t care. So, they, as well as a select crew of loyal members, went to the meeting.” Robin with her head down. “Then it all went so wrong so fast.”

__Two weeks ago__

Outside the third, bare looking, warehouse from the end of the docks. Surrounded by shipping containers long abandoned, Robin and a few other One O’s stand guard by vehicles in their standard gold and black urban armor.

When suddenly the ground begins to shake. The ground splits open and massive arms of infernal creatures begin clawing to the surface.

Mal comes shooting out of the side of the warehouse covered in blood and oil. Caught off guard by his sudden appearance, Robins’ ankle is grabbed by one of the blood red beasts crawling at her feet. Seeing her from the air, Mal readjusts and kicks off a shipping container. 

Slamming into her and ripping her free from the beast. “What the hell are you doing here, Mal?”

“Explain later, escape now.” taking her hand, they run full speed until neither can run anymore.
