He had moved into a small house with his mom a week ago in a small town called Haven.

After a few moments he glanced at his alarm clock and realised that it was still early, but he knew he wouldn't be able to get back to sleep, not tonight.

Alex pulled himself out of bed and decided to go for an early morning run to clear his head and hopefully be able to slip back into a dreamless slumber.

He pulled a pair of sweats and a white tee from his drawers and quickly got dressed, grabbing his keys, phone and earpods he climbed down the stairs quietly trying not to make his mom, who had been exhausted from working so late.

Moving boxes were still stacked in the living room, their contents waiting to be pulled out and put away but neither he nor his mom could be bothered right now, his mom was swamped with her new job at the local high-school and Alex just couldn't be bothered.

Stepping out the front door he closed it quietly and took in a deep breath of fresh air.

He pushed his earpods in and quickly scrolled through his phone and selected his favourite playlist to run to.

He set off at a gentle jog down the dirt track that led to their little house on the outskirts.

It was a quaint little place, painted a dull wine red, 2 storeys with 3 bedrooms and an all round rustic feel to it, parts of the paint was peeling and some of the wooden slats on the porch had rotted but that was an easy fix, He'd always loved working with his hands and always had some project or other going.

Reaching the end of the dirt track he settled into his normal rhythm and just let the crisp air and the music take him away from all his troubles.
