The day the void opened up, was hell. Families were torn apart, literally ang figuratively. Here, let me tell you my side of the story. One beautiful, sunny afternoon I was sitting on the couch with Alec, watching TV, Ivy just coming out of the bathroom, and Anne, my older sister, was in the kitchen doing her thing. Just as Ivy came to sit down next to me, the ground started shaking, and shaking, and shaking. The sky grew dark way too early for nighttime, as horrid screams drifted through the air and into our ears. All the lights in my house shut off, leaving us in complete darkness. I could hear Anne drop the spatula as she made her way over to us "We need to leave. Now.". I got up with Alec and Ivy and we all made our way to the door as Anne opened it and rushed us outside. "Shed, the shed should be safe!" "It's destroyed!" "Shit, uh. Cellar, that shouldn't be destroyed!". We followed Anne's instructions, making our way around the house to the back, I was in front, Alec in the middle and Ivy in the back. As I turned the corner, I immediately stopped, Alec bumping into my back. I heard him whisper from behind me "Heidi? What's wrong?" I whispered back "We need to back up." "Wha- Why?" "Just back up. It isn't safe." Alec did as I said and a few seconds later, we were back in the front yard. "Heidi? Why are we back in the front yard?" Anne asked "There's a tall, black figure with blood red eyes, tearing up Mr. Fitz in our back yard." I replied "Oh." "Blood was everywhere and his guts-" "Okay, we don't need a description of Mr. Fitz's dead body." "What are we going to do?" asked Ivy "We could try to kill it?" said Alec "No, that thing was half the size of our house, the best thing we can do is hide" "I trust Heidi, she's the only one that has actually seen the thing" said Ivy "Then I guess if we ever encounter one, we'll just have to hide" said Anne "Yeah, but where though?" I asked "Alec. Do you have a sturdy shed, or maybe a cellar?" asked Anne "Yeah, we have a basement" "Then we'll go there". Just like that, we made our way over to Alec's house, which was right next door. Inside his house, Alec made his way to the basement door and tried the handle "Damn it! It's jammed.". As Alec into the basement, a loud thump, followed by a horrifying screech came from the other side of the door, making Alec jump back from the door. "W-what was that?" he asked "I don't want to find out" I said as I grabbed his hand and rushed out the door, Anne and Ivy already out there after they hear the screech. "Where do we go now?" asked Ivy "I don't know, we've ran out of options" replied Anne "Probably away from-". The front door busted open and there stood a tall, fully black creature with blood red eyes, twisted limbs and it was on all fours, I think, well, that was all I saw before I grabbed Alec's arm and ran, Ivy and Anne right behind us, or so I thought. Ivy was almost in front of us, and Anne was trying to get away but three days earlier she had hurt her ankle while doing a handspring, and that made it impossible for her to run. I was still holding onto Alec's arm, but when we got behind the rubble of our old shed I immediately let go of him and started running back to Anne, to try and help her run, but it was too late, just as I turned back, just as I started running again, the creature had pierced her chest with its spear-like arm, blood started gushing out almost instantly. I grabbed a sharp stick from the grab and ran at it, stabbing it in its side when it was distracted. I pulled it out and stabbed it into it's back, black goo oozing onto the stick. I grabbed a different stick and stabbed it's back again, in a higher area, I used those two sticks to climb onto its back and with a rock I had in my pocket I started smashing it's head in, black goo oozing onto the rock. I jumped from it's back just as it fell to the ground and I rushed to Anne's side. Kneeling down next to her, she grabbed my hand with the weak bit of strength she had left. The last thing I heard my sister say to me wasn't "I love you" or anything like that, it was "Leave this place. Don't end up like me.". Then, she was gone, dead. No more Anne, it was just the three of us in Maltery. All by ourselves. But, now I have a mission. To leave this place before I end up like Anne. And, that brings us to now. Sitting in my yard, leaning against the rubble of my once standing shed. Hi, as you probably already know, I'm Heidi Banco, and with me is Alec Forsyth, and Ivy Vendi. We're just a group of kids in Maltery. From what I've heard, those monsters are called Caterls and can easily kill someone. Welp, now that you know some aspects of the story, Enjoy reading my hell of a story, where we try to escape this shitty city!

A place that used to have wonder and joy turned fear when the Caterls came out. Vicious monsters who only had rage of no beginning or end. The endless void of Maltery, the dead, non-beating "heart" of it all. That's where the monsters live, and originate from, where the dead bodies of victims are thrown. Maltery is endlessly covered in darkness making it easier to get killed by the Caterls. Heidi is one of the only survivors alongside Alec and IV her two only best friends in this world of monsters.

The updates on this story will be completely random, since I still have TLT to write, so don't expect an update every week.
