You, dear reader, are probably wondering what the deal with this series is. To that I say: I don't really know either.

The purpose of this is so I can have an excuse to write regularly. The idea that someone may eventually look at what I write will ensure that I try to write well. I will write personal stories, opinions, and maybe some poems or snippets of my current writing projects. I will be sure to not write anything too revealing, so if you are in the mood for some juicy gossip, this is probably not the place for you. Also: there is no need to read my entries in chronological order if you care to read them. Jump around as much as you like. If you have any questions or prompts for me, I'd love to hear them.

I feel a good start to a diary would be for me to introduce myself. Here is a short bio:

Name: Maple Tea (or simply Maple)

Pronouns: I'm still looking for pronouns that fit me. Use whatever you want, maybe I'll grow to like a set.

Dislikes: Noisy environments, sports, and aggressive people.

Hobbies: Writing, reading, and drawing.

Interests: Linguistics, history, culture, science, music, animation, and environmentalism. I am currently learning Finnish, Spanish, German, and Russian. I am also learning music theory and hope to one day learn to play bass guitar. It's a matter of finding the time and money, though.

Dreams: To see the world, to make people smile, to learn all that I can.

Philosophy: I make a point of deciding the right things to care about. Life is too short to care about how someone else looks, who they choose to love, the career path they choose to take, or anything so long as they aren't hurting anyone. Life's also too short for me to care about becoming rich, beautiful, or famous. You will find I am very chill until the conversation shifts to a select few topics. That's how I like to live: stress free and with enough energy to devote to the things that really matter.
