I once used to think I was normal. A normal teenage fire cracker as my mother used to say. Now I’m so much more and I’m very grateful for the people brought into my life, even through all the terrible things I’ve done and have had done to me, I’m glad everything happened the way it did. My name is Serenity Blake, I’m currently twenty four but I’m sure I’ll need to go back in time a few years to get to the really good parts of my story. 

I was only fourteen when my mother left me. Yes, left me, as in vanished and I was alone. I had no where to turn other than my grandma. She was my favorite person in the whole world but she was also very elderly and sort of crazy. Or so I thought. Back then I was naïve and didn’t know anything about what I’d become later in life. After I had been settled in I soon got to know the few neighbors that lived down the road in both directions. My grandmother lived in the country so there were only a few people that actually lived “near” me. I met Daniel and Bailey, both boys my age that we’re a handful of fun. Then there was Stella, my best friend and Bailey’s sister. Stella and I traveled throughout the woods behind my new home all the time and always ran into all kinds of animals. I’d never seen a deer in my life until then. 

Soon I was fifteen and the things my grandmother would say and tell me about we’re sort of terrifying. Mostly about some sort of beasts with glowing eyes. I honestly thought she was crazy at first but soon realized she was talking about the wolves in our woods out back. Knowing a wolf pack lived out there only made me want to explore more but I knew I couldn’t be stupid and get myself, or Stella, eaten so we decided to stay in our backyard field. 

Very quickly summer came and we were out of school and one morning a few people knocked on our door, my grandma welcoming them in with hugs, laughs a smiles. I had no idea who any of them but Stella told me they were all friends with people in town and only came during the summer to borrow rooms at the few houses, including hers. My grandmothers house was much larger than most so we actually had a lot more people at our house. Still, who were these people, why were they here, and why do they only come during the summer? 

Not long after they departed and turned sixteen the next year. School was a drag and I soon grew tired of waking up early only to excel in classes that were way too easy. Coming from city life we were way ahead of this school district. Once again summer came and the people came too. The last time they had been here I kept my distance and hung out with my few friends. This year I decided to meet some of the friendly looking ones. Once I said hi to one of the girls I soon was forced to meet everyone, all of them being friendly and for some reason they knew lots about me, my mom, and even some stuff I didn’t know. It was kinda creepy, making me wish I hadn’t said hi. Again summer left and the cycle repeated for a few years and I was finally about to be eighteen. Just days before everything started to become very very strange. First starting with a few of those people coming back two months earlier than normal.
