The frigid evening air was becoming almost unbearable as winter approached. All the leaves had already fallen from the trees and were now lying on the damp concrete. The birds had migrated to warmer climates, leaving the area deserted.
The small town, practically abandoned, had only a few residents who were already at home.
Just outside the village, there stood an abandoned factory. No one dared to step inside due to the strange happenings that occurred within its walls. As a result, nobody knew what events were now taking place inside.
The vestiges of the factory hide a basement with 26 floors, each labelled not with numbers but with letters. To access the lower floors, a trapdoor is cleverly concealed behind a pillar, leading down to the Z floor. In the centre of a square spiral staircase, there is a glass elevator that appears to be still operational.
Inside this place, the silence is almost deafening, except for the sound of water slowly trickling down from the mouldy walls. It seemed like a long time ago when the walls were white, but now they were green with mould. A silhouette slowly descended the stairs of this cold, dark, and eerie underground place.
The yellow lights flicker and buzz, creating a scary and sickening feeling that can be found in almost all horror films. The descent feels like it will continue endlessly as the silhouette passes unhurriedly in front of the glass doors of the E floor elevator.
Their pale face was blank with hazy emerald eyes, and their movements were rigid and mechanical, making it seem like they were in a trance.
After passing numerous floors, they almost arrived at the last floor. But before they could, they peeked around the corner and saw a sinister shadow that looked like a human being facing away from the stairs and staring at the wall.
The shadow seemed to radiate darkness, as if it was the source.
Seeing that, the silhouette finally came back to their senses and looked around in horror, not understanding how they got there and why. Suddenly, a sound startled them, making them peek around the corner again. They saw the shadow moving as if to face them.
Without waiting to see what the shadow was doing, they backed away as quietly as they could. After reaching halfway up the stairs, they started running until they were back on the B floor.
There, they pressed the button to call the elevator, and while they waited, they frantically looked between the elevator doors and towards the stairs, praying that the shadow would not come.
The B floor was more peculiar than the others, as the walls on the other floors were bare, except for the spiders and cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. However, on this floor, there was large graffiti on each wall, and on the concrete floor, some places had cracks where grass grew from these cracks, along with debris.
While panicking internally, a sudden chill ran through them, and out of the corner of the eye, they saw movement.
Thanks to their reflexes, the silhouette was able to dodge the attack, making the metallic baseball bat bounce against the wall and back towards the aggressor.
The aggressor was probably a man because they were burly and tall, with ebony and very short hair. However, it wasn't certain since they were wearing a white mask and a leather jacket that seemed too tight because of their muscular arms, black and tight jeans, and black leather boots.
The aggressor started circling around the silhouette like a cat in front of its prey. After a few steps, they tried to attack, but again, the silhouette was fast enough to dodge out of the way.
A ding sound caught the attention of both beings, and with a final burst of adrenaline, the silhouette hit the attacker in the knee, making them fall. They were then able to throw themselves inside the elevator and hit the button to close the doors.
The masked man again tried to hit the silhouette with the bat, but fortunately, the glass door was closed and strong enough to not break.
It was really scary to see through the door as the attacker stared at them with their head tilted to the side while laughing crazily, giving the silhouette goosebumps. But the scariest thing was the words that came out of their mouth.
"I will find you, Yoojin Delaney, and when that time comes, I will not let you escape so easily again..."
Hello everyone, thank you for reading the prologue of my story. This is my first time publishing something I have written, and I hope you enjoy it.
