Tick tock tick tock.It’s a normal Friday morning. I'm in my 5th period class waiting for the clock to hit 12:00pm so I can go to lunch. As the bell rings dismissing the class I make my way through the halls to the cafeteria. I smile at my friends who wave or nod to me.The high school I go to is pretty nice and has a pretty big cafeteria that has rooflights letting the sun come into it to fill the room with natural light. I pass one of the four staircases leading into the cafeteria and walk to my lunch table.I sit alone for a minute watching people sit down at their tables when I feel someone mess with my hair messing it up even more since I was too lazy to do it in the morning. I turn around to see an olive skinned, tall guy with brown hair behind me. 

“Hey.” Marco said as he sat down to the left of me.

 I looked at him and pulled out my phone. The rest of the guys all sat around the table filling the rest of the spots. The guys say hi and nod while they sit. 

Since the tables are round and only have ten seats, three of the guys to my right are the ones I’m cool with and talk to sometimes while the other five I don’t. Everyone but me and Mark are on the football team and most are part of our group. Since none of the girls in the group have this lunch hour, Tori sits with Stephine and her friends who are also some of my close friends after Marco of course. The tables around us are filled with other football players, preppy kids, and pretty girls that Tori is sitting with.

If it wasn’t for Marco most of the guys on the team wouldn’t talk to me since most don’t really like me either because they think I’m gay(which I am),but since I’ve never had a boyfriend and I’m what’s considered “passing” as straight, people can only guess if I’m gay, bi or straight. They also don’t like that some of the girls they like or their girlfriend like me or find me attractive.Since I don’t  have a problem talking to them because I’m not interested in them it’s easy for me to talk to the pretties girls hence why they are my close friends which may add to the rumors. It’s not like I’ve said I’m straight not since middle school when you’re always told to like a girl.Funny to think that some guys flirt with me when their friends aren’t around. 

We all at this point have gotten our food and have started eating when I see someone coming to our table from the side and sits in the empty seat next to Marco. Matthew sat down and started talking about how the coach was mad at him for missing school and practicing so much. Matthew was tall, one of the tallest guys in the school being around 6‘4 muscular with dirty blond hair, parted down a little off the middle and usually clean shaved unlike today. I can tell he's been out late partying because he has some stubble on his face. 

The bell rings for us to start going to our class and we start to pack up. “Are you coming to the game tonight?”

Marco asked me. 

“No.” I replied.

“You have to, it's one of our last home games.” Marco said while smiling down at me as he got up.

“You want me to see you guys lose again?” I smirk and Marco just stares at me. “I’ll think about it.” 

We all leave and the day flies by so fast that it’s the end of the school day. I go home like every other day and sit in my room texting others if they would go to the game. I know our group or more like Marco’s group will be there. They will all be on the field or the sidelines cheering them on. I text Jessica and Rita and they tell me they will be there so we agree to meet Rita's and go to the game from there. By the time we arrive there’s only five minutes left till it’s over. 

Since Jessica is Marco’s ex I wait with them on the side and don’t approach the group. We walk out of the field to see Nick and Mark. We walk over to them and they are talking about the party happening later at Marco’s girlfriend Kayle’s house. Since her parents are away she’s throwing a party. Jessica not caring what happens. Will probably still go. They tell me they're going to go buy a bottle and blunts. They asked me if I was going with them. I tell them that I'm waiting for Marco to change and that I’m leaving with him. Jessica tells me okay and the four of them leave. 

I waited alone for ten minutes while everyone else left. I got a text from Marco that he was done so I walked over to the sports entrance. “When did you get here?“Marco said as we walked to his car.

“Right at the end basically.”

I tease him about losing. As we get into his car. His parents just bought him a new car because his birthday is coming up. His car is a nice sports car with two doors. I like it because it’s quiet and feels smooth when he’s driving. I tell him if it’s okay if we pick up before going to his house. He nods and I tell him where to go. We get to a white house and I tell him to pull in while I text Logan to come out. He comes out and comes to my window. Logan and Stephine are also talking. Part of the reason why Angelica Kayle’s best friend doesn’t like Jessica or Stephine  is because she’s trying to get at Logan.

“So you guys going to Kayle’s?” Logan said as he handed me the bag.

I nod.

Marco leans over .“Yeah, pull up if you’re not doing anything.” 

“Ight I might. I’ll probably get there late ass fuck though”

We got to Marco’s house and he showered and changed.We left and drove to the party. When we get there we head to the back we’re most of the group is at. We've been there for about two hours now and it’s midnight. Marco’s super drunk and tells me that I can take his car. He's going to be staying here. I tell him no. I wouldn’t feel comfortable driving his new car even though I haven’t drunk or done anything. I’m not the type to get perpresured so if I’m not feeling the mood I just won’t drink. In the backyard Jessica, Rita, Nick(the guy Jessica cheated on Marco with), Mark, Stephine, Monica and Nina are all smoking. Meanwhile inside the house other than the random people are Marcos' friend group Jace,Tori, Jordan, Hannah,Angelica and Troy. 

Troy and Tori are siblings. They're pretty much cool with everyone so they both make their way to the backyard.I don’t feel like going with them today so I go to the front of the house to order a ride.

I sit on the steps as I wait on my phone for the Car 15 minutes away. I look up hearing crunches of the leaves on the ground being stepped on. I see Logan approaching me.

“Sup, you leaving?” He reached the steps. 

“Yeah.”

“Alright bro you owe me one though. Always leaving when I’m getting here.” Logan signed.

I smile as he walks inside probably on his way to look for Stephine. As soon as he’s gone the porch light gets blocked again. I thought it was Logan coming back to try and convince me to stay,when I heard a deep voice not belonging to him.

“What you doing?” They asked me. 

I turn around, surprised that it’s Mathew.

”Waiting for my ride.”

“Where they at?” He steps closer standing next to me looking down. 

“Uhhh.” I open my phone to check where my ride is and it tells me it is 12 minutes away. “They’re 12 minutes away, it saids.”

“It?” He bends down a little to look at my phone.” You ordered a ride?”

“Yeah.” I look up and see his face covered by his shadow. His hair moves when he stands straight again.

“Cancel it. I’ll take you.” He moves his head nodding at me as he says it.

I stare at the half-drank beer bottle in his hand. He notices and looks at it too.

“Don’t worry I’ve had this one all night and I haven’t finished it. I’ll cash you the cancellation fee too.” He smiles like really smiles, the type that makes you want to smile back. It also helps that he has beautiful teeth too. 

 “We don’t live that close though.” I commented.

”It's the same way.” Mathew replied. 

“Okay.” I finally gave in. 

He sets his beer down in a spot where it won’t be broken or knocked over. We walk off to the grass. He tells me this way and we go left walking past a few cars parked on the side of the curb before reaching his truck. He drives one of those nice pickup trucks that have touch screens and stuff. He unlocks the truck. Me being 5’10 still has to put effect into getting into the truck. Matthew turns on the truck and asks me if I want to connect to the Bluetooth and I tell him no. He puts on his music and we drive off.

To get to Kayle’s it’s kinda back roads with trees so the drive is really relaxing mostly at night. We’re both quiet for a while until he turns down the music from his steering wheel.

“So why did you want to leave early?”

I turn to him and look at him for a second before answering.”I just wanted too.” I murmured. 

He gives me a quick glance and looks back at the road. “Weren’t all your friends there? Your friends outside of the group?” He asked me. 

“Yeah.”

He doesn’t say anything back. We continue to drive as we get closer to my house. The music was still low from when he lowered it.

“If you want we can go to my place?”I just looked over at him, raising my eyebrow a little. I was a little shocked.“We could swim in the pool?” He suggested.

“I don’t have any swimming shorts.” I say giving a small smile. 

“I’ll let you borrow some or we can just go in our underwear. I just thought it’s a little early to be going home on a Friday.” He looks back at me cracking that beautiful smile again. “What else you gotta do?” He teases me. 

“Sure.” I reply smiling back again after seeing him smile at me. 

We got to his house. Pulling into the four car garage. Matthew lives in a nice house like Kayle. His mom is an important lawyer in our city and his dad works from home. Something to do with marketing with social media apps. I get out of the truck and walk over to the door leading to the backyard. I stand looking at the pool.

“Do you want me to get you some shorts?” He whispered.

“No it’s fine.” I whispered back walking out to his yard getting closer to the pool. His pool has lights all around the bottom so it kinda lights up the pool and a few feet around the pool. “Oh. I have edibles if you wanna…” I had forgotten I even had them.

“Yeah.” He agrees without me having to finish my sentence. 

I pulled out the candy bag Logan had given me earlier. Rip off the top and undo the reclosable bag. I grab one and hand him the bag. He grabs it, pulls out his phone and takes a picture. I assume that he’s posting it on his story. We both take the edible. He hands me back the bag and I put it in my pants. By the time I took off my shirt he already jumped in the pool. 

I walk towards the pool putting in my toe to feel the water. It was cold. It’s mid September so it’s high 70s but still this is not swimming weather. At least not for me. I only swim if it’s 89 degrees and up. Matthew tells me to get in. I take off my remaining clothes and jump in. It was so cold. I pop my head out and start to shiver. 

“It’s not that cold.” He laughed a little to himself.

“Yes it is .” I say fast while my lips shiver.

We both just swam in place for about five minutes. The pool is really big and deep; it goes to around 8 feet deep. Matthew all the way in the deep or else he would just be standing and I stick to the middle of the pool. 

“Are you still cold?” He starts swimming towards me.I just nod.” We can get out if you want.” He suggested. 

Now he’s about a foot away from me. As I swim I can see his face from the light of the pool. I’ve always known he was attractive but seeing him this close I’m noticing it even more. His chiseled jaw, his pretty boy blond hair pushed back behind his ears and the small hairs hanging side of his face. His beautiful deep blue eyes sparkled looking back at mine. His whole face is beautiful and I haven’t even talked about his ripped body. 

“What?” He chuckles and smiles.

“Nothing.”I think he noticed me staring hard. I remain calm and swallow nervously.

We continue to look at eachother with the water moving us closer together. At this point we’re inches away from each other. He gets closer and grabs the side of my face as in asking for permission to kiss me. He then pauses. I go closer and he does too. We kiss. I feel his warm lips touch mine. I can feel his stubble  when he kisses me. He continues to kiss me only this time with more passion. His right hand moves around me grabbing my waist pulling me against him. I feel his warm body and wrap my legs around him. I brush my hand, through his hair with my other grabbing his bare neck. 

He jumps forward a little to get to where he can stand, removing the hand he had on my face to my ass. He grabs me holding me up as he walks to the side of the pool all the while he kisses me like I’m his last chance at air. We stay like this for a while then he moves his hand to hold onto the side of the pool. His lips leave mine and I open my eyes to see him looking back at me. His head moves and dives to my neck. He starts to kiss my wet neck making it feel the warmth of his mouth. 

 At the moment I panic. I push him off a little.

“I have to go.” I blurted.  He moves back and I jump out of the pool.

“I’ll drive you.” Mathew insisted. 

“No it’s fine I forgot I had to meet Nina.” I get my clothes on and walk out the backyard to the front. What just happened? Fuck.
