My head feels… foggy. What time is it? Did I sleep in?
A bright sky greeted Wish, dazed, she tried to shake off the blurry sensation clouding her vision. In the moment there seemed to be an obscuring figure looming in front of her.
They're huge! Wait… No, that’s not it. They are just really really-
“Still with us?” The voice of the figure calls out, they had been snapping their fingers attempting to get her attention. Wish squints as her vision settles and her surroundings become nothing but abstract shapes and colors, her focus landing on the first thing in view. A woman, wearing a dark tailored waistcoat over a purple dress shirt, complemented with a black tie.
“Why am I wet?” Wish uttered the question before she realized the answer was well within her own ability to decipher.
The well dressed individual gave a toothy grin, and glared at her with sharp purple eyes. She leaned a little to her right and pointed down. They had been in the dead center of a pond, no deeper than below the knee.
“What just happened? Where-” Wish asked, finally noticing her surroundings. Floating islands grazing the edges of buildings created right out of someone's dream, impossibility made manifest, she hardly noticed the expression on her own face.
“Right! As I was saying…” The grinning lady turns and gestures at the place “You can stay as long as you like, though it is a bit different than what you are used to, would you like to-” the woman stopped as she noticed Wish’s eyes starting to lose focus. Her smile slowly faded as an eyebrow was raised. “...Skip the tutorial?”
“...Huh?” The scenery had taken the confused woman’s attention again, staring at the glittering structures for too long blurred her vision, causing loss of focus. She looked down, seeing her own reflection staring back. The sleeves instead fitted loosely around her wrists with a snug sweater vest over, no makeup or lipstick, just… her. As she stared, echoes of arguments seemed to come from it. She couldn’t make out what was being said, only that it was her voice. The dazed woman snapped her attention back to the figure in front of her, remembering that they were still in attendance. “W-what were we saying?”
“This is going to be a thing.” The friendly greeter said, smiling away the awkwardness. Her brows furrowed with worry. “Very well then, follow me.” She motions Wish to follow, turning to walk towards the building that laid before the two. “To Adeina! She'll take over!”
Wish snaps her attention to her newly found companion, “To who?”
“Come, come.” The grinning woman was already making her way towards their destination. The blonde could only follow, or risk being lost.
The difference between living here and her home planet, Nibeir, was drastically different in many aspects. For one, eating, digesting, cleaning, and going to the restroom was not required; as the beings here took in the energy needed through the skin. The mind was more powerful than the physical in this place, so the state of how she is really depended on the control of her mood, mindset, and perspective; some days were easier than others, which made her marvel at how or who was keeping the Realms as a whole stable for all beings. From what she has heard, it only takes a split second of the mind to lose focus to cause the entirety of the place to collapse or cease to exist.
Wish was a very fast learner and got the ways of living in the Realms very quickly. Over hearing about how long most residents take to adjust to the new lifestyle, she began taking great pride in her fast achievements. Wanting to do more, she then asked how she could contribute during her stay. Adeina, her care-taker, gladly recommended her a job here in the Realms.
