“Say ahhhh!” Carren held up a spoon to Sorel’s mouth and was waiting to feed him a large scoop of vanilla ice cream-a flavour he knew was Sorel’s favourite. They were at a famous cafe for a Friday date and Carren was watching as his lover's mouth opened.

“Ahm! Mmm, so tasty!” Sorel took it and savoured it in his mouth, swallowing only to get another bite.  

Though this was indeed a gay couple, to others, they probably couldnt tell. Sorel had wavy hair tied up in a loose bun and his face adorned make-up that instead of hiding his features, brought them out. However, he left the lipstick out, he couldn't stand forcing himself to eat neatly so it wouldn't get ruined. He also wore a white crop over his slim figure with his indigo coloured jean shorts, matched with light pink sandals, his freshly done nails, and the earrings he was wearing. Making him look feminine and somewhat delicate. While on the other hand Carren looked like a runway model. His hair was a little messy, but it served to give him a “troublemaker” vibe. He wore a white dress shirt (with a few buttons undone so you could see a little of his chest and blue ripped jeans to match with Sorel. To others, this would have passed for a young couple with a boyfriend and “girlfriend”.

Carren started daydreaming, staring at the face of his lover. He was mesmerized by Sorel’s beauty, it entranced him like a feisty serpent with a snake charmer. However his daydream was cut short when he got a call, waking him up like the nasty alarm clock you get in the morning. 

He looked at the screen that wrote “unknown caller” and went out to take a call, getting permission from Sorel who smiled but not to his eyes. 

When he got back to the table Sorel questioned him. 

“Who was it?”

“Oh, it was my classmate, I have a group project to work on.”

Sorel paused for a moment but nodded and let him leave, for this wasn’t the first time it had happened. Carren would often get calls from unknown numbers and then leave almost right after. He was disappointed but didn’t let it show as he continued to chow the rest of his ice cream and leave to go home and wake up to a new day. A new day where he would tell himself to forget any negative thoughts, any thoughts that made Carren seem like a deficient person.
