When I was younger, I learned what epilepsy was because my younger brother had it before I did. He stopped having seizures once he was about 7 or 8 and after that we thought that we won't have to deal with seizures again. But then when I was 11 on December 1, 2012, I was getting ready for science camp. Now I was so excited for it because I would be gone for a week with my class. During that full day I was getting ready because the next day, which was a Monday, was going to be the day we left. I don't remember much of that day, only the shopping and getting my hair braided, but I remember being on the floor in front of my front door with the paramedics surrounding me. Then I woke up in the hospital with my mom and dad comforting me while looking sad. On that day I had a seizure and a few tests later learned that I too had epilepsy. I was in 6th grade when that happened and while typing this I am now a sophomore in high school.
