Wow. That was one hell of a story. I wipe the tear from my cheek and bring myself back into reality. I'm hiding in the school library, amongst the multicoloured bean bags. The library is the only part of the school that didn't get painted a pastel green during the summer holidays. All the other classrooms got "updated" in the break; the walls have been painted a colour that I personally think best fits a stationary set or a t-shirt rather than a room. At the end of last term, I started a petition to keep the library from being modernised. I was actually suprised by the amount of people who signed it, especially when most people shout at anyone who goes in and call them nerds. I've been called a nerd a few times by them. Of course, the football team just laughed at me when I tried to ask them. I knew it was a lost cause really, I guess I was kinda hoping someone would. Someone did though, so at least there was that. Jenna, the only girl on the team, smiled and put her signature on the piece of paper. Maybe not everyone on the school team are obnoxious idiots.
"Asha, five minutes 'til lesson starts, honey." Miss Gibbson's voice startles me. I had been staring into space and hadn't realised the time. Or how warm it had gotten.
"You look quite red, is everything alright?"
"Yes, everything's fine, thank you Miss." I mumble and rush out the library towards my Spanish lesson. As I run, I think about what Miss Gibbson had said. Had I gone red? I was only thinking about Jenna-
A warm wave rushes through me, and I grow more self-consious of the fact that my heart is pounding, even more than it already was. Why? I reach the door and hear "Jenna, pass it!" from the field. She's going to be late to her lesson. I don't know why that bothers me so much. I hope she doesn't get into trouble. I reach my classroom just as the bell goes, and I turn my attention to the new vocabulary we'll be covering in today's lesson.
"Alright, chicos y chicas, settle down, por favor..."
Asha and Jenna meet in school one day. They've always been in the same school but their paths have never crossed. They immediately become friends, but they both start to experience feelings and emotions that neither of them expect. From people they've hardly heard of to acquaintances to friends to potentially something more, this story follows the girls exploring an idea that never had even crossed their minds before, the challenges they face because of their relationship and the beautiful moments shared between them.
