I was at work when a major earthquake had struck San Francisco... I was too busy trying to be a hero and died.
As I was busy evacuating and rescuing people, I tripped over some loose rubble. Before I could get up, some rubble from the ceiling fell on top of me, and I blacked out. I assume I was buried (or crushed) alive, thanks to that earthquake...
Perhaps this was some mistake, or a gift from god. You only get one chance at life; my parents had always said that... But for some reason, I woke up reincarnated as a condemned princess!

"Make sure you finished those documents, everyone."
My boss had taken three laps around the room, nagging everyone as usual. He was making sure there were no slackers on the job.
"Those are very important for our clients who want to invest into our company!"
"Yes, boss..."
We all muttered, gloomily.
I am Anne Hathaway, just your regular office worker. As I was going about my day, I noticed a slight rumble. I looked over to the bottle of water I had always kept on my desk and noticed the water inside was shaking. Some people from the office noticed the commotion and look around.
All of a sudden, the building started to shake violently. Many of my colleagues started to panic. My boss shouted orders to all of us.
"GET YOUR ASSES OUT OF HERE! THIS BUILDING IS GONNA COLLAPSE ON ALL OF US!"
In a state of dazed confusion, everyone started to rush out of the rooms and out of the building. I noticed some people trapped under the rubble.
"Please help me!"
"I don't wanna die!"
"I have a family to get back to! Someone, is anyone, going to help me?!"
I looked back and felt a twinge of pity.
"Anne, what are you doing?!" My boss yelled from across the shaking room. "Get outta here! it's too late for those sorry fellas!"
I hesitated. Should I help save people? But this wasn't the time to play hero!
"Anne, if you aren't coming with us, then I'm not hesitating to stay after!" He yelled. "After all, I've got a business to help run!"
My boss turned around, looked back at me one more time, and rushed down the stairs, his shouting voice fading away as he descended.
"... Hurry up and leave! What are you loitering around for?!"
"... Right behind you, boss!" I yelled back.
I ran over, trying to avoid as much rubble as possible, and pulled out any survivors. I pulled out as many people as possible.
"Thank you so much."
"How can I ever repay you?"
"Thank god you came!"
They all said, and rushed down the stairs.
I knew I shouldn't have stayed as long as I did.
When I felt like it was time to leave, I threw off my heels and sprinted down the stairs. As I was rushing down, I was a man that had collapsed on one of the stairs. He was holding the side of his head; blood trickled down from his hand.
"Are you okay?" I shouted at him.
"... Help..." He replied, faintly.
I ran over and slung him over my shoulder.
"Thank... you... Miss..." The man replied faintly.
"You're welcome." I replied, quietly.
I tried my best to rush out of the building while balancing the man on my shoulders.
"Please... leave me... here.... I'm.... already a.... dead man."
"No, I will not. I'm sure you have a family..."
I finally came down to the end of the stairwell. As I was running my way to the exit, I tripped over some loose rubble. I crashed onto the floor, along with the man. I was too tired to get up and the man was too injured to stand. I looked up and saw the automatic doors were jammed open. Then, I looked around and saw that the place was going to collapse in on us if I didn't do something quickly. The rubble was pilling up around us.
"Sir, I'm going to shove you as far as I can."
"What?"
"One, two, THREE!"
I used up the remainder of my strength and shoved him out of the way.
"MISS!"
"ANNE?!"
The rubble had fell. The building had finally collapsed.
I couldn't feel my legs anymore. My head felt like it was split open.
Mom, dad, I'm sorry for being such a foolish daughter.

"... Miss... Madame!"
I opened my eyes. Dazed and blinded by a bright light. Was this heaven?
"Priscilla, what do you have to say for yourself?"
What? I had just died. What do you expect me to do about dying, ya bastard?
"Do not talk to my lady like that, you scumbag!"
I turned around, surprised that a woman in unknown attire had rushed to my side.
I looked back down, and saw a checkered tile floor. Was I kneeling on the ground?
I slowly lifted my hand off the ground. I bring my hand to my face and felt it. I felt my cheeks and they felt like there was salty water on it, and my eyes stung. Was I crying?
I pinched my face. A slight stinging sensation was left behind.
Yep. I was definitely alive.
"My lady, are you all right? Do you want me to smack him?"
I looked up at the woman. She was wearing a long, navy blue dress and a (dirtied and stained) white apron around her waist. (It seemed like maid-like attire.) She had black hair that had bangs and was tied up in a tight bun. Her skin was fair. It seemed like she didn't go out in the sun very much. Upon closer inspection of her face, her eyes were a mix of a violet purple and a very faint baby blue. (This maid seemed very familiar for some reason...)
"You poor thing. Your face is all blotched from crying." She said, gently.
The maid helped me stand up. I took this opportunity to look around me.
I saw there was a chubby guy with a fair girl hiding behind him, clutching his arm (rather tightly).
I flinched in surprise. I had just remembered reading a novel that had a scene like this (back when I was in San Francisco). This exact scene was from a popular light novel from Japan. I had read this novel two years ago, back in a library.
Judging from how the building looks, and the scene from the novel... I must be in the prominent magical academy that was located in the capital... If I remember correctly, this was the scene where Priscilla was condemned for bullying Yuan.
If that chubby guy was addressing me as Priscilla, then I have to be Priscilla Penelope von Shuli; the crown princess of this kingdom... Then, these two characters were Gray Eirini (the chubby guy who was the son of a duke) and Yuan Seislin (the "fair" girl who was the daughter of a marquis). So... the maid standing next to me must be Tanya Alora la Cillia. Priscilla's personal maid and head of the castle maids... But, how on Earth did I end up possessing Priscilla's body?
"How dare you bully Yuan, Priscilla. You have no right to see people in pain for your weird pleasures!" Gray yelled at Pris---no---me.
Ah, this wasn't the time to be spacing out and thinking... Well, I should say something... But what would be a good response to get me out of this predicament?
"My lady, you do not have to apologize to these arrogant idiots."
Tanya seemed like she was on the verge of slapping Gray and Yuan.
"... No, Tanya, I will apologize for my... Rather foul actions."
I looked at Gray and Yuan.
"Mister Gray, Lady Yuan, I apologize for my rather rash and stupid actions. For all of the months before, leading up to now."
I did a low curtsy to signify my remorse. After I finished, turned to look at all of my classmates that had surrounded us and curtsied to them again.
"And to my classmates, I also apologize for causing a ruckus."
I glanced around and saw many people whispering to each other. I let a sly smile slip past.
"What was this
sudden change of heart?"
"Princess Priscilla never apologizes to any of us."
"Perhaps she had matured and learned her lesson [after being condemned in
front of all of us]!"
I turned to Tanya. I believe Tanya was mainly surprised at my behavior, having been practically raised beside Priscilla, I know this will come as the biggest surprise to her.
"My lady Priscilla... What on..."
I turned away from her and turned back to Priscilla's classmates again.
"May I bid everyone farewell. I know we will never see each other's faces again."
I started to walk away from Gray and Yuan, who were equally just as shocked as everyone else.
"Let’s leave now, Tanya." I called out to Priscilla's personal maid.
"... Yes, my lady!" Tanya sprinted after Priscilla.
