Golden Gate Bridge

Early in the morning 3 civil engineers came to examine the bridge as they had called in about a strange noise coming from it.

“Hey! Did you secure the area around there like I told you, newbie!”

“Yeah.”

“You better, or else we're all in trouble!”

11:24AM

“911 what’s your emergency?”

“IT'S FALLING!"

"What's falling?"

"THE BRIDGE! THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE! THERE'RE BREAKING APART! THERE'S BEEN SEVERAL CAR ACCIDENTS! HURRY THEIR FALLING OFF THE EDGE OF THE BRIDGE!”

*SNAP* *SNAP*

“What’s that sound!?”

“OH MY GOD! GET AWAY FROM HERE!”

“THE BRIDGE IS BREAKING APART!”

Screams came all around as they evacuated the area and those that were able to get out of their cars ran as fast they could. 

“Hmm…”

From side to side everything looked so hazy and slow.

“…mom.”

What’s going on, what’s happening, was it always this hard to breathe. Screams were coming from all around and then it hit me, mom was driving and somebody came and hit our car. 

“Elijah… Li….”

Buzzing pain ran through my neck as I turned my neck to look behind me, seeing my brothers unconscious. 

“Hahh… mommy.”

Then it started, two loud sounds snapped and the car started to shake. It finally helped me get my senses back as fear took over and I yelled for help.

“HELP! SOMEONE HELP!”

The car was tipping over as another loud snap broke out and this time the car started sliding down showing the view of water below me, cowing in fear I couldn’t bear to call for help anymore. Then the floor broke out and everything around me completely went black.

“MOMMY!”

Screaming out for my mom as my body quickly went up then back down causing me to look at the night sky then turning my head I looked beside me as much as I could.

“…where am i…”

Surrounded by dark shadows created by the moon, the buildings looked like they withered away in gray and sand, where there wasn’t a hint of water or screams nor any of my family around.

“Elijah and Li…wasn’t…the car falling…did we all die.”

From the speed of me getting up to going back down took a while as I sat there, I had to pat the ground to see if it was actually there beneath me. I was so scared that I couldn’t stand up, the thought of water and height from the bridge….so terrifying. 

For a while I sat there for a good hour or three to recollect my thoughts and my appearance, because the first thing is that I must’ve died as I’m pinching myself and secondly my hands and feet were so small! I can actually feel a lot more hair on top of my hair than I did before and I think I’m just all bones right now plus where’s my proud FATNESS! Has all my 22 years as Kim Lee come to an end.

As I finally had the strength to get up and walk I began to think negatively about it, like was it my fault that the car went down…. No no it was not that the younger sibling of mine was also chubby we should’ve been stable….enough. 

*GROWL~*

“I’m hungry…”

So far from everything I have seen, it must be a dream because the moon is purple and the animals I saw so far looked freaky and the magic in the sky with MONSTERS APPROACHED! HOLY MOLY! Is this a dream come true from the heavens…is this my reality? RUN KIM RUN! NO TIME TO ADMIRE IT. To think something like this can scare me and make me happy at the same time is crazy, well I'm crazy happy it's just like the many animes I watched. Where they get reincarnated and become op characters and has a harem, oh my gosh what kind of forbidden magic do I have *gasp* or am I cursed with it! So cool!!

Later I found out I don't have magic. It's a pass along magic. Basically it must come from a family member blessing, how did I know well…I finally found my mom.

While walking I finally see a town or city ahead that was filled with laughter and joy and delicious food filling my nose with hunger that I found her by accident as well, running with all my might I knew it was her as I tried to call out to her but my stomach was growling non stop that she heard it. 

"Are you hungry?"

I instantly knew that it was her.

"MOMMY!"

Her eyes went wide as she recognized it was me, from my view I knew it because of her expression as she remembered me so that means she was also reincarnated. I was so happy to finally see her but then her expression went dark. Her appearance was so beautiful her light green hair and purple eyes with a young face and body, she looked like she was in her teens. As I was about to grab her she slapped my hand away, while holding her own hands close she looked hard at me and walked away.

"Mommy!"

I call her over and over again even her actual name.

"ELIZABETH!"

She just walked away… was that her or was it just me.

No, no it can't be because she obviously noticed that it was me, she just looks different that's all. 

Then I found her again in the arms of another person…she looked so happy or horrified.

Back before this all happened my mom was a widow and her husband, my dad was verbally abusive to steal money from her and his own kids but he died due to overdose in another state with his girlfriend. She said she didn't feel anything after his death but just free from his lies and promises. That was around 3 years ago and in this world she's with another person she just looked so happy…. 

"What's wrong?"

He asked and she said,

"...a nightmare appeared."

"Look at me, Beth."

She refuses and hides her face deeper in his arms.

"It's going to be alright, you've been having those nightmares again lately. Come on, let's go rest."

They walked away and I remained hidden from view, my mom called me a nightmare… if she didn't then what was a nightmare to her. I sat down there until someone came and kicked me out that evening.

The next day I wanted to give it another try, because it can't just be me right. So I went looking for her again as it seems they had class outside in the middle of the woods, such a great opportunity since all the students are outside it was going to be easier to find her..I think? Then from afar a elderly woman stood in front of them and began to speak.

"Alright students, let's have a small quick quiz before I give you your assignments. Can a person use magic at will?"

One student raised his hand.

"Mr. Javier."

"No ma'am, one's magic is passed on from one's family to the next generation."

"Correct, does anyone know why that is?"

"Because it was given to us by a divine guardian who protect this realm."

"You are half correct Ms. Ranger, there are two types of divine guardians. Can someone name them out?"

"The Gods of Zeta and the Winged Valkyrie."

"Correct, but please do raise your hand instead of speaking out of turn. Now everyone, the reason why I asked you this question is because someday you will have to pass down your magic to your future children. Those who have the representing powers from the Gods of Zeta will someday be called upon."

"You mean like the Hero of Trevena."

"Yes, the Hero of Trevena was called upon to defeat the demon king and trumpets all obstacles in the Trevena Empire. Now this may be decades ago but the future holds the unseemly might of the path before you."

"Ma'am?"

"Yes, Mr, Amar."

"What of the Winged Valkyrie? There's so much about them in lullabies and poems but nothing much about them in our studies, could it be that they never existed in the first place."

The elderly woman paused and grabbed her wand waving it in the air and continued.

"Their existence is very much real…but I must warn you to never cross a divine guardian."

She took a step back and closed her eyes, as an image began to appear.

"They are the gatekeepers of protection, bringers of death, and judgment. This teacher of yours encountered one years ago before I became a teacher, a beautiful woman that is even more beautiful than our beauties at the time here. But they are dangerous forces that you should never offend. That is my warning for all of you, now.”

She claps her hands and waved her wand again as the forest began to glow.

“Now it’s time to go and find what divine item that belong to you.”

The student began walking in the forest as I followed along until I felt someone grab my arm pulling me away.

“Go back.”

The person who was pulling me away was my mom.

“Go back, you don’t belong here.”

“Mo-”

“I’m not your mom anymore! The other two never came to look for me so why did you! Why did you show up and ruin my life again!”

She looked at me and turned away, leaving me behind.

“…..”

Tears in my eyes I cried silently looking at the floor and cried loudly.
