“Ugh.” I audibly groaned, unable to ignore my pounding head, which felt like it could split open at any moment. I knew I should have cut myself off at eight drinks, but my friends just kept bringing me more and more. They were fruity and tasted like heaven, and for a moment I completely forgot about finding out my now ex boyfriend was cheating on me. They just wanted me to have a good time, but I’m definitely paying for it this morning.
I knew the morning sun would burn my sensitive, hungover eyes, but I peeled them open anyway and began my morning ritual. “Man, I drank too much.” I mumbled to myself, dragging my sorry ass out of bed in search of the coffee machine.
“You’re telling me.” A deep voice behind me grumbled causing me to jump and miss the landing right on my ass.
“Holy shit!” I gasped, almost at a loss of words. “Who are you?” That’s when I finally took the chance to take a glance at my surroundings. Being in autopilot hangover mode I completely missed the fact that this isn’t my house! “Where the hell am I?” I nearly shouted at the man curled up in the blanket on the bed. It’s obviously a hotel room, but I’ve never stayed in such a nice one in my life. He’s naked. Holy shit he’s naked. No I didn’t, I couldn’t!
Oh no. Does this hotel have a bar? Oh shit. We ended our night at the hotel bar, we were so drunk trying to act like the fancy stiffs that stayed at this particular hotel. I would never be able to afford this kind of place so hopefully that charge didn’t go on my credit card. It’d probably be declined even if they tried. I don’t exactly have a very high limit or much available for that matter.
“Keep it down!” He pleaded, rubbing his head.
I didn’t respond, but instead desperately looked for my clothes. Okay, okay. I thought to myself. I’ll just leave and act like this never happened. It was a one night stand, people do those. It’s fine, completely normal. Where’s all my stuff? Why’s this hotel room so damn big anyway? “What did I do last night?” I whispered to myself.
“You don’t remember?” The man asked, getting up nonchalantly picking his scattered clothes up off the floor. “Should I remind you? I’ve got to say, I could get used to a woman like you. Mild mannered on the streets, wild animal in the sheets! You quite surprised me.”
At this point I’m in full fledged panic mode, I’ve found most of my clothes. I just want to get the hell out of here. Ugh good going! I screamed internally. You slept with him, you freaking slept with him! Shit I don’t know this guy! A complete stranger. Ah, once again you’ve made your parents proud. No wonder you were the least favorite. I kept beating myself up inside over this, which made me so frustrated I wanted to pull my hair out.
“We should do this again sometime.” He was already fully dressed, getting something out of his briefcase. He handed me a business card.
“Ugh in your dreams. I’m going to forget this ever happened. I suggest you do too.” I finally spotted the rest of my belongings on the couch on the other side of the room. Wow, what a beautiful couch. What I wouldn’t give to be able to afford furniture like this, unfortunately being just another IT chick, there’s no way I’d be able to afford it. I mean maybe I could if I applied for a bunch of credit cards and maxed them all out. I wonder how much it’s worth anyway? What a high class hotel room, better take a good look because this will probably be the last time I get to stay in one like this. At least hopefully not in this type of circumstance at least.
I quickly finished dressing, thankfully the dress I had chosen for the night was pretty simple so I slipped right into it. I grabbed my purse and made a beeline for the door.
“I’ll be seeing you around.” The handsome man commented as I slipped out of the door.
“Like hell you will.” I sneered, slamming the door behind me. Great now I get to do the walk of shame down the hallway. I bet my hungover ass looks fantastic.
Is there a trash can anywhere? I’m going to chuck this business card. Well maybe I should keep it just in case, I glanced down at it only to receive a huge shock. CEO of Tech Daily Enterprises, Tripp Cederick. No way, holy shit, no this can’t be happening! That’s the company I work for, and I literally just not only slept with the CEO but was rude to him in the morning!
Good going Sera, good going. It felt like all of the air had been punched out of me, anxiety washed over my body. There’s no way I’m going to have a job after this. Time to start job searching I guess.
