I got up from my den, looking around the cave I shared with Raven who hides in Shadows. I looked at MoonShine, he was huddling in the corner of the den in a peaceful position. He was quiet and supposedly sleeping, I put my head down. How could they be so peaceful?
I should check what's happening in camp... I got up from my nest and slowly put my paws on the stone below me, I looked at the vines that hung over the cave's entrance. I stretched before starting to pad out. Cats were going to the fresh kill and getting something, I rubbed a paw over my face. The shade made me sleepy again, but I suppressed the urge to go back into the cave. I took a black bird from the pile and at half of it.
"Hey! DawnPool!" A voice mewed from a distance away from me, I looked up and found myself staring into BrambleTail's sage green eyes. I saw the newly made warrior come towards me. He seemed to have just woken up and immediately headed straight towards me. Huh...
"It's nice to see you up, want to go hunting?" He asked innocently after he sat down besides me. I pushed the rest of my black bird towards him and responded.
"Yeah, we should also go fishing if we have the time." BrambleTail mewed in agreement and finished the black bird while I waited and washed my face. When he finished the black bird, I got up from my resting position. On our way out, I ordered ShadowFeather and BadgerFur to hunt in the forest as well. They nodded and started to head out along with us.
They started to hunt in the forest while BrambleTail and I went fishing. The sun with its warm rays made me sleepy. I shook myself with once more before settling myself besides the river's cool waters. I settled myself besides the river in a position so that my shadow didn't cover the water.
BrambleTail walked into the water, surprising me. What was he doing? He's going to scare all the fish away!
"BrambleTail! What are you doing?!" I hissed, "You're going to scare the fish away!" BrambleTail's head shot up to look at me. He was startled, his fur bristled with some emotion. He seemed embarrassed?
"I just want to try something..." The male trailed off and stayed in place as the waters rushed past him. A fish swam under him, I stayed in my position. As swift as a fox, he launched his jaws down and chomped on the fish that tried to continued on down the river. I stayed still, watching as BrambleTail brought his head out of the water.
"Shee, I've goff a fish," BrambleTail mewed through the dead animal and jumped onto the bank. His paws slipped and he fell flat onto his chin. His back paws stay in place. I let out a mrrow of amusement. BrambleTail got to his paws with embarrassment clear in his eyes, he looked away from me.
I stared at him for a moment, but turned away and got to my paws. I got besides BrambleTail and led him away from the river. I settled him down in the sun and started to lick his legs and chest clean, after all, it was wet. BrambleTail moves away from me, his fur is bristling and he is once again embarrassed.
"DawnPool!" BrambleTail's voice was shaky, his sage eyes were nervous. He settled down and went up to me. He was a bit taller than I was, so he was kind of towering over me. I stared at him, confusion swirled in my mind. I don't understand?
"There's something I've been meaning to tell you," BrambleTail paused before continuing, his voice wavering. "I've gain feelings for you..."
'Of course you have feelings for me, I was your mentor after all...' I held my tongue, keeping my head held up high. I kept blinking and stared at BrambleTail's confusing eyes, emotions swirl inside of them.
"I... I... I want you to be- to be my m-mate," BrambleTail said, tripping over his words. He closed his eyes, I opened my mouth but no words came out.
'What should I say? He's used to be my apprentice... I've never had a mate before...' My mind raced and I spat out the first words that came to my mind.
"Yes."
