Origami's story begins in The Dried Fields. The Dried Fields are an empty file of black dry ground with no plants growing anywhere. The Fields seem to emit a black smelly cloud from its roots. There are decaying trees and houses laid out in a few places.
Origami is a 11 year old girl. She wears a pale green shirt and shorts that are damaged. Her skin is peach color. Her hair is messy black bob-cut hair with long bangs that completely obscure her eyes. Her feet and hands are bare. Her arms and legs seem to have several cuts exposing her. One on her left leg, upper right arm, lower left arm, 2 on her neck, and one beneath her left eye. She has bandages to cover them up. She has a green veil on the top of her head and hangs low at the back.
Origami: "Still lost...still haven't found any food...still haven't found myself"
Origami walks into a decaying house and sits on its couch, She shivers in its place. She then notices a fire place, lights it using a match and warms her hands up.
Origami: "I hate...having friends...I rather be alone!"
She hears noises coming from the kitchen. She walks inside to see another child looking through the refrigerator. The child turns around to see her. Origami gasps and runs towards the back exit. The child tilts his head and follows her to see her struggling to reach the doorknob.
Origami: "Come on! Come-"
Origami falls to the floor and suffers pain from the cuts she has. Origami stares at the child before she wipes her tears and asks for help. The child was named Manny. Manny is the same size as Origami and is 11 years old. He wears a brown long sleeved shirt with blue overalls. His skin seems to be a mix of peach and brown. He wears a train hat on his head. He wears blue shoes on his feet and his hair is short, black, and covers his eyes.
Origami: "Can...you help me?"
Manny: "Sure!"
Manny gives Origami a boost and she opens the front door. Manny offers his hand to Origami, but she shoves him aside and runs away. Manny frowns and watches her leave. As she is running, the ground beneath her starts to sink and boil.
Origami: "Huh?!"
Origami struggles to free herself until she sees Manny running past. Origami tears up and screams for Manny's help. Manny turns to see the girl sinking. Manny doesn't wait as he quickly grabs her hand and pulls her out. Manny then starts to run as the ground continues to pull them in. Origami struggles to keep up and she keeps tripping over.
Origami: "Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! Hey! Stop!"
Manny stops in place.
Origami: "Could you stop pulling me so hard?! I keep falling and tripping back here!"
Manny: "S-sorry, i'm only trying to keep you safe. You don't have to whine like a girl."
Origami's face turns red with fury.
Origami: "I AM A GIRL!!!"
Origami crunches Manny's hand and lets him go. Manny looks at his hand. His hand is throbbing and pulsing in pain. Manny stares as Origami leaves without him. Manny walks through the boiling Fields and leaves.
Manny: "What is wrong with her?"
Manny sits by a dried up tree and eats some of the food he found in the house. Origami runs keeps running until she feels something grab her leg. She turns to see its a thick sharp piece of a black goo substance. She struggles to pull her foot out until a black child who's body feels like a gooey substance manifests itself. The kid's name was Ink. He wears a black shirt and his skin was brown. His hair is short and black which covers his eyes. His leg are covered by a pair of white pants and his hands and feet were covered in black ink.
Origami: "INK?!"
Ink: "Hi, Origami! How have you been?"
Origami: "What are you doing here?! Please let me go!"
Ink sticks his tongue out at Origami, and it's purple. Her leg gets crushed tighter and it becomes swollen purple. Ink looks down at her leg and frowns. He looks back at Ink a bit nervous.
Ink: "Sorry, but no! I wanna play a game first! Please...like the old times?"
Origami: "I don't get it! I wanna be left alone! Away from you! Your no longer my best friend, remember?! You lost my trust!"
Ink: "I understand that if you told me nicely."
Origami: "You were using me...like all the other?"
Ink: "In fact, we ALL wanna play with you! We have animal crackers and popsicles there! Y-your favorate?"
Origami tears up and frowns. Ink does the same thing but crunches his fist. A giant black ink arm bursts out of the ground and reaches for Origami. Origami looks down giving up until Manny shoves Ink down. Manny then pulls Origami free.
Ink: "OW!"
Origami: "You...saved me?!"
Manny grabs Origami's hand and runs away from Ink. Ink sticks his tongue at them as he grows spider legs made from ink. He chases after Origami throughout The Dried Fields. The ground starts to boil and suck them in again. Origami manages to keep pace with Manny. They run all the way into The Dead forest and manages to loose track of Ink. Ink searches around for them in The Dead Forest before hearing his name called in he distance.
Ink: "NOW?! What do they want?!"
Ink wipes his face and leaves Origami and Manny alone. Origami smiles slightly at Manny.
Manny: "Are you alright?"
Origami: "Yeah...thanks...for saving me. By the way, we never game each other names"
Manny: "My names Manny."
Origami: "My names...worthless- No! I...um...its Origami."
Origami begins to sweat a little before trying to change the subject of names.
Origami: "Y-your hand! Its swollen! I'm sorry!"
Manny: "What? This? I'll be fine. Really."
Origami: "Its bleeding. I can help."
Manny: "No! Ugh! Ow...its fine. Come on, lets find a way out."
Manny gets up and walks away. Origami stands up and blood rains down her face in the style of tears.
Manny: "Origami? Are you coming?"
Origami: "I need a moment."
Manny sits near a tree while Origami stares at a reflection of herself in a pond. Origami's reflection turns into a hatred, depressed, and more bloody cuts version of herself.
Hate: "I see you're back......"
Hate is the shadow of Origami's depression and lonely self. She only appears in the form of reflections as she knows what Origami truly wants.
Hate: "I told you. "
Origami: "Don't, remind me..."
Hate: "Look what happened to you.... Time and time again they continue to torment you. You tried standing up for yourself, but it only made things worse. Ink used to be your best friend and even he turned against you."
Origami: "I probably am a puppet on strings at this rate! But I found someone who seems...to..."
Hate: "Care about you? Trust you? I thought you hated when people care about you. You know it never ends well for you."
Origami: "I know I hate it, but Manny...feels different!"
Hate: "How do you know it IS different. How do you know he won't cut your heart out like all the rest. Makes me question why he keeps helping you."
Origami set her knife down from her pocket and start to cry. The cuts starts to leak blood and black venom. Hate reaches her hand out of the pond to pat her head.
Hate: "There there... you were hurt too... It's not your fault..."
Origami: "But it was, Hate! It was..!"
Hate: "Look what they did to you.. Look at your eyes...They're still coming for you. The only way for you to win is to make them stop hurting us."
Origami: "How can I do that?'
Manny: "Hey!"
Origami turns to see Manny approaching her. Hate dissolves from being seen.
Manny: "Who are you talking to?"
Origami: "Uhh...no one. Come on, lets go."
