Pangea Proxima

5 Years of Dreams

5 Years of Dreams

Nov 27, 2019

Note: Every time I add a new character to the series that is permanent/long term, I will add a description of them at the end of each episode

Fields. Open fields, everywhere. The ocean tide isn’t far from here. I can smell the salt. It’s been 15 years since the continental drift formed the new land, Pangea Proxima. The sun was beaming down on my face, my mother holding my shoulders. Then I heard it. The crashing sound of metal scraping together. He was behind us, holding the same gun he was before. I turned around, and my mother was in a pool of blood. So was I.

                              September 17, Sector 18

“Still having that dream again?” James said. “Yeah” I said quietly. “Harper,” James said calmly “You’ve been having the same dream for the past 5 years.” “I know.” I replied. “What you guys talking about?” Gwendolin asked “Harper’s still having that dream.” James answered. “At least she ain’t screaming when she wakes up anymore.” Gwendolin said with irritation. “Gee, thanks. Makes me feel so much better now that I know I irritate you.” I say with sarcasm. “You know I didn’t mean it like that Harp.”. “I know. I know.”

I got up from the table and headed towards m room “I’m going to get dressed,” I said. I closed the door and started undressing. I grabbed my black jeans and gray tank top and slipped on my black shoes. I walked out of my room and headed to the bathroom. I felt a little uneasy as I was walking but as I reached the bathroom.....

Young Harper Anderson, with her friend and brother, trying to get by in a futuristic world where the earth's continents have become a large land mass. Meanwhile people around them follow the orders of soldiers and military personnel for their safety and life. All while Harper is finding mysterious powers that she didn't have before.

Notice: This novel is based off of the "Shatter Me" series by Tahereh Mafi. If you've read the series then you'll notice that many things in this dystopian society are very similar to the "Shatter Me" series. I'm not copying her nor did I intend to. I'm just merely fascinated by her novels and wanted to create something similar.
