She ran through a forest, weaving through trees and bushes.
"Come on, come on. She has to be here, she has to. I need to find her, come on!," She mumbled, pushing branches and ferns out of the way as she went.
The forest was dense with trees and brush as if untouched by man. Years ago there had been path here, a road traveling through the forest from village to village. Years had not been kind to it and with newer waterways and bigger roads for trading, it had faded from most people's minds.
She kept running along the forgotten path, talking quietly to herself as she went. It was rushed, as if she was hoping to, needed to see someone or thing.
She ran past a red tree, unusual for this time of the year in that region. It was left from when a Magick lived nearby, bring fall and its tones where it when.
A woman with hair the color of night also was in those trees. She was taking some time to herself, breathing in the forest's crisp air as she tried to clear her mind.
The night-haired woman collided with the other girl as she ran past.
“Oof!”
“Oh I’m so sorry,” she exclaimed, “I didn’t mean to walk into you-Adelynn?!
“Huh? How do you know my-“
“Oh my goodness Adelynn I'm so glad to see you oh my goodness I'm so sorry," Her words came tumbling out in a rush as she hugged Adelynn.
Adelynn looked at the other girl in confusion as she took a step back. "Who-who are you, and how do you know my name?"
"S-sorry, it's just…" The girl wiped some tears that started to form in her eyes. "I've been looking for you, or anyone really and I just" Everything was coming out as a mess now and Adelynn went up to her and put her hand on her on her shoulder.
"Is there somewhere, you need to be? You seemed to be in a bit of a rush." She asked.
"Well, seeing you has already been good, but i-if you know how to see Xenia, that'd be nice," Her voice became quieter and more timid.
Adelynn gave her a small smile. "I'm sure I can find someone to help you get there. I, Have to do something."
"That'd, That's be nice."
"One more thing, What's your name?"
"Oh, it's Katie,"She said with a smile growing in her face.
oооооооо
"Come on, can you please help me out here?" Adelynn asked a young man with brown hair, "You're one of the only people that knows that the way there well."
He sighed, "Fine. But only because I have nothing better to do. That place brings back," He paused for a second, "Memories."
"Thank you so, so much Mel."
"Katie, this is Mel. He'll show you the way to Xenia's. Mel, this is Katie, the girl I told you about. I have to go now, bye!"
Katie and Mel stood there for a moment.
Mel coughed, "So, should we, um, get going?"
Katie nodded, starting to blush a bit.
Mel started off into the woods, Katie following close after.
