Dear readers, before you read this story, I'd like to say a few things. First of all, I have to warn you that some of the subjects mentioned in this story might be triggering, so here it is:

Trigger Warning:  This story contains subjects like abuse, rape, suicide, self-harm, child neglect, mental illnesses, bullying, and death.

If any of those subjects might trigger you in any way, you might want to leave this story be. For sexual content, I will make special warnings (especially if it gets explicit) so you will be able to skip those scenes if you want to.

This story mentions a lot of heavy topics so if you are a sensitive person and cry easily, this might not be the right place for you. I also won't blame anyone if they decide to stop reading at some point during the story.

For everyone who decides to give this story a try: I hope you'll like it.

I don't know how long this story is going to be exactly, however, I do know that this will not be a short story. The storyline is complex with a lot of different characters and perspectives and it might take me a few years to actually finish it. In general, I tend to plan long novel-like stories. So if you don't plan on reading a long story and potentially waiting for new chapters to come, this might also not be a good story for you to read.

(I'm also not sure if I can manage to follow an uploading schedule since I am busy with (high) school/ sixth-form/ A-Levels at the moment. For now, I will try to upload once a month.)

Edit for new readers: I graduated on June 17, so the part in brackets is no longer valid.

I also do not have an editor and English is not my native language, so I might make some mistakes here and there. I usually re-read the chapters before publishing them so I can hopefully correct as many mistakes as possible.

At this point, I also want to give my thanks to my best friend Kyo, who usually reads all my stuff before I get to publish it and gives me some feedback on it.

That's all for now,

greetings, Kat  (≧◡≦)

This story plays in an alternative universe, but you can try guessing which country the one they live in is closest to in our universe. You can make suggestions for a few chapters before I reveal the truth! (It doesn't matter when you read this, even if you read this story when it is finished, you can still participate in the guessing game)

Orphans. That's what the Clark brothers become after their parents die in a car crash. And unfortunately, they have no relatives left who could take them in - or so they believe.

Marco got kicked out by his family for being gay at the age of 17. He has come a long way since then. He is happily living with his partner of 8 years, has a roof above his head, a job, a stable income... and he hasn't been in contact with his family ever since.

He knows that his parents have both died without ever talking to him again. He expected that to happen. What he did not expect is getting a phone call in his late 30s saying that his older sister and her husband died in an accident, leaving three sons behind. Making him the only relative they have.

He'd like to help, but he has his doubts - surely his nephews would be homophobic, just like the rest of his family was, right? Despite those, he wants to try taking them, after all no one deserves to be left alone as a child or teenager...

Since Marco agrees to become their guardian after talking to his lover, the brothers get a call saying that they can meet with their uncle and his partner. While one only agrees to prevent them from possibly getting separated, another is secretly looking forward to living with the couple.
