It has been quite a while for those who have read my story so far. For people who are newly stumbling across my little story, welcome!

I have not updated this story in a long time and there are plenty of reasons for this.

One of them is that I originally came up with this story when I was 16, then worked on it for a couple more years to outline the story before I started posting chapters (which I was writing as I published). I have since realised that while I still like the story in general, there are a few things that I think need changing – again, I was 16 when I originally came up with the concept of this story. I am now 23. I have changed in some ways and stayed the same in others, but generally speaking, 7 years is a long time. I feel like I can't continue the story as-is, as I am not the same person anymore.

Another reason is that I set this story to play in America, as teenage me consumed a lot of media from the US and read stories that take place there. Because of the current political climate, I do not want to write a story that takes place there anymore.

I still very much want to write the story, and I have been writing it. I have also been writing another story that is a prequel to this one, but is quite different.

In addition, I have had some personal stuff going on, including problems with my mental health, which made writing much harder.

I plan to rewrite the story from the beginning.

It will take place in a fictional place (my main problem right now is coming up with names for the different countries mentioned in the story, as while they will be fictional they are not in a fantasy setting, so the names need to sound like places that could exist in our world but don't). Feel free to drop some ideas – I need at least one country that speaks English as the main language, one that speaks Italian, one French, at least one Spanish and one German (the last one is the easiest for me to come up with as I am German). So far, the story still uses the names of real places, and I want to change that.

Once I am done with the story up to the last chapters I posted, I will start posting those. The number of chapters it takes to get there will be different this time.

After that, I will write until the end of the first story arc. Once I am done with that, I will start posting those chapters. Then I will finish the next arc, post when that is done, and so on. This will very likely mean that I will take breaks from posting, but when I post, I will be able to post regularly for a while.

I have deleted my Instagram account, so I will post updates on my writing progress elsewhere. I am still debating if I should make a Bluesky account or just give you a link to my website and post updates there.

I will keep the updated chapters up and label this story as the old version, so you can still read this if you want to.

I hope those of you who have enjoyed my story will enjoy the new version as well.
