Please, Play as my Wife!

What?!

What?!

Jun 09, 2021

It was a sunny morning as Dean was making his way back to the flat he shared with his roommate and best friend, Caden Webb. There were grocery bags in his hands as he hoped he could convince his friend to make him some food.

Growing up in a wealthy household, Dean has never learned how to cook for himself nor understood how to take care of a home since someone always did it for him.

But when he first started university, Dean wanted to live independently and move away from his luxurious life because he grew tired of it. He was mainly tired of how people would try to be his "friend" because he had money; it was annoying.

So, when he finally got a place on his own, Dean trashed it in less than a week. The rooms were a mess no matter how much he tried to clean, and the kitchen was even worse when he tried to learn how to cook for himself.

Due to all those failures, Dean looked for a roommate that would help him out. Most people did not want to room with someone who cannot do simple things, so he spent a week looking for a person who will.

Then, one day, he met Caden.

Caden entered the university late because the school confused him for a female due to his voice, figure, and looks. He had to get things fixed, even though he obviously put male on his application.

When he came, Dean met Caden in his math class. They were sitting next to each other, and Dean saw Caden jotting down how he would have to afford living expenses on top of paying for school, which was not easy for him because school is expensive.

So, Dean quickly asked him to be his roommate while helping him out, and the man would not have to pay rent. Caden was skeptical at first, but he did need someplace to live, so he agreed.

And since then, everything was history.

They were already in their last year of university, and even though Dean had learned how to take care of himself better, he wants to keep Caden with him because the man's cooking is top-notch. That is not the only reason, but it is the main one.

Once he reached the flat, Dean went in his pocket, looking for his keys while the bags shook with his movements. A minute passed when he realized that he did not have it.

I forgot my keys again! Dean yelled to himself.

Okay, he did learn how to take himself, but it was still a process.

Dean knocked on the door, hoping that Caden did not leave the place. Another minute passed as Dean feared that he was locked out again when the door finally opened.

On the other side was a man with black collarbone-length hair; the hair was all over the place, showing that that person was sleeping earlier. The man's face was feminine as he had light brown eyes with long lashes that had a mole under each eye, arch-eyebrows, a small refined nose, and full lips.

The man's frame was small and curvy as he yawned while rubbing his eyes, "Did you forget your keys again?" His voice was soft while making it hard for people to distinguish his gender when they heard it.

Dean gave a sheepish laugh, "Caden, I swear I had my keys; I must have lost it."

Caden snorted as he moved away from the door to let Dean in, "Yeah, lost it, my ass. Your keys must have magically walked itself back home and hung itself up."

Dean walked in, closing the door behind him. He turned towards the wall shelf near the door and saw that his keys were hanging there.

Giving an embarrassing laugh, Dean looked back at Caden, "My keys are magical?"

Caden rolled his eyes before glancing at the bags in Dean's hands, "Did you buy food so that I can cook for you?"

Dean nodded as he took off his shoes and walked to the kitchen to put the bags down so that he could put them up. "You are lucky that you are terrible in the kitchen because, at this point, I feel like your personal chef," Caden said from behind him as he followed Dean to the kitchen.

"You are my best friend, and silently my chef on the side," Dean answered as he was taking the food out of the bags.

Caden punched him in the arm before helping him take the food out. Dean grabbed his arm, rubbing it as he suppressed a cry of pain because Caden's hits hurt.

Even though the man had a feminine frame that looked like he could not hurt a fly (which is saying something because Dean has met strong-looking females), Caden had freakish strength.

Seriously, if Caden wanted to pick him up, he could do it with zero problems, and Dean was 6 ft tall while weighing about 190 pounds. The man could even lift a couch with Dean on it.

"One day, you are going to break my arm," Dean commented.

Caden chuckled, "No, I won't; I know how to control my strength."

"Even then, your hits still hurt. It is so different from your appearance."

Caden turned towards him with a glare, "If you mention anything about my appearance, I will break your arm."

Dean put his hands up to show he was surrendering when his phone started to ring. He quickly pulled his hands down, grabbing his phone from his back pocket as he saw that his mother was calling him. "Well, look at that, I have to take this call, be right back."

He exited the kitchen and made his way to his room, closing the door behind him as he answered the phone. "Hello, mother."

"I have great news!" His mother shouted, hurting his ears as he pulled the phone away.

Dean felt his stomach dropping at his mother's tone. Her good news was never great for Dean. "What is it?" Dean slowly asked, not wanting to know.

"Do you remember Kayara, from the Raulet family? They want to merge with our family's company by arranging a marriage between you and her. Isn't that exciting!"

Dean kept from groaning because it was not exciting; this was not the first time his mom tried to set him up with some rich girl, but this is the first time she agreed to an arranged marriage.

He does not want to get married! Especially not to Kayara. He remembered that narcissistic girl and Dean would jump headfirst into an ocean full of sharks before being in a room with her.

"Mother, I do not want to marry her," Dean spoke.

His mother clicked her tongue, "You have been single for too long, and I want a grandchild. Honey, we have done many things for you to have a good life, and you can at least let your mother see you get married and have kids before I die."

Dean pinched his nose with his free hand; he hated when his mother would get like this. She would try to guilt and manipulate him. His mother was not a bad woman, but she would do anything to get what she wants.

"I don't like Kayara."

"You can grow to like her."

"No, I do not want to marry her."

"Why? You better give me a reasonable explanation because I would agree to it even if you are an adult."

Dean groaned, trying to think what to say as he stared at his wall. Two minutes passed, and he still had no idea what to say when he heard his mother getting impatient.

"Dean-"

An idea hit him as soon as his mom tried to speak, "Because I am already married!"

It was silent for a while that Dean thought his mother hung up on him before she started speaking, her voice sounding low, "Are you lying to me? If you are married, how come I never met this girl, and why did you not tell me that you got married? You never posted on your social media either."

Dean bit his lip, thinking as he spoke, "My wife wanted to do it on the down-low because her family would not have approved. I am sorry for not telling you, mother, I did not want to betray my wife's trust."

"How long have you been married? I want to meet this girl."

"Three years, and I do not know."

His mother clicked her tongue, "Three years? You will be bringing this girl over to us. And if you do not, I will tell the Raulet family that you agreed to marry their daughter."

She hung up.

Dean put his phone on his dresser while rubbing his face because he did not know what to do. He would have to find a girl who could play as his wife and have them learn three years of information about each other in 24 hours (because his mother won't give him long until she wanted to see his "wife").

Sighing, Dean thought that sounded like a lot of work. Plus, he would have to find a girl that he knew would not fall for him.

While he thought about what to do, his stomach started growling. Food will help my thoughts. Dean told himself as he walked out of his room and to the kitchen, only to stop as he watched Caden cook.

He looked Caden up and down as an idea was hitting him.

Sensing 'evil' thoughts, Caden turned towards Dean that had on a thinking face. Caden felt dread entering his stomach because he knew nothing good followed right after Dean had on a thinking face.

"Did something happen?" Caden cautiously asked.

"I need you to play as my wife," Dean answered.

Caden dropped the spatula in his hand as he did not know how to react except answer with one word, "What!"

Book One

Dean Levy wanted to be a simple college student, even though he was far from it. His father is the CEO of the famous multi-billionaire company: Levy Corporation. At the same time, his mother was the renowned owner of the bakery: LaReign Bakery, which was in 15 sites worldwide.

He did not want his fame to take over who he was; he only wanted to live a carefree, simple life with his best friend, until one day, everything changed: his parents were trying to set him up for an arranged marriage!

To get out of the arranged marriage, he lied to his parents that he had been secretly married for three years. Now, they want to meet his wife!

And who would be great to play as his wife last-minute, why his best friend, Caden Webb!

Caden Webb hated his looks due to his frame and face looking girly, while his voice did not help because he would always get mistaken for a female. But no one made fun of him because even though he looked girly and weak, he surprisingly had inhuman strength.

Even so, he still hated it when people mentioned his looks, even when his best friend would tease him about it. He wished to be manly like every other guy.

But, one day, he was thrown for a loop when his best friend, Dean Levy, asked him to play as his wife. His freaking wife!

Someone was going to die today.
