It was a sunny day in the Sapphire Kingdom. The sun loomed over the blue kingdom, as it glistened in the daylight. Winged Pokémon like Swellow, Tailow, and Starly were flying over it.
This has many people who possessed Aura powers, young and old alike. But unlike the vast majority of the world, the kingdom stayed to its roots, without fast food restaurants and with very little technology.
"Let's play, Riolu!" a young voice said with glee, as she ran with her blue Pokémon across the backyard behind her parents' castle.
The blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl in a blue-and-white dress running with her is Crystal Safirwitz, and she wants to be heiress of the Sapphire Kingdom one day. "Race ya, Riolu!" she sped across the park with Riolu, running circles around garden gnomes that have likenesses of different Pokémon, such as Snover, Dragonite, and an anthromorphic Deerling standing up.
A butler (Alfred) is seen looking outside at her for a bit, dusting the furniture with a pink feather duster. He looked at King Harmond, her father, who was standing with him. "She can probably run the kingdom. We do need plucky, caring souls, you know. Too many rulers with an iron fist."
Harmond replied, "She does need to be firm though. Nothing wrong with being a caring soul though."
A dark brown-haired, purple-eyed girl who's taller than Crystal steps out with her Salandit in hand. She's seen wearing a black, Lolita dress and a purple bow. Salandit also had that same bow. She groaned, "Can we please get a McBurger here? Or a Tacocolo ("taco" + Ludicolo) or something...?"
"We're not having those kinds of places in our kingdom, Violet. Besides, fast food does a number of problems for most of the world. We don't need chunky people with heart disease here."
"But, daaaaad..." Violet Safirwitz groaned "we're all gonna die someday, no matter how much fast food we avoid. Just get us a Tacocolo PLEASE!"
"No, Violet. I'm done with it. I'm about to go do my papers. Also, the way you think is why you may never get the crown. Let's be honest, or whatever kids say nowadays." He walked off and shut his office door.
She scowled at Crystal, as she's playing outside with Riolu and other Pokémon. The other Pokémon with her are a Vulpix, a Phanpy, and a Rhyhorn.
Violet (née Amethfräu [amethyst + fräulein [girl] was part of the Amethyst Kingdom, which was similar to the Sapphire Kingdom, as far as progression goes. It's been dissipated due to a genocide that happened. King Harmond adopted her, but she would always shut Crystal out. She did so out of jealousy; she wants the crown.
"Look at her with her Pokémon, giggling and laughing," she said with scorm. "That's not gonna get her a damn crown! Like she should get the crown." She rolled her eyes as Crystal waved at her and called her to come out and join her.
Harmond called out, "And let's watch the language, missy."
Violet finally came out with her Salandit. "What do you want, little sister? I don't wan't any part of playing."
"We're gonna play soccer!" She materialized some blue aura into a sphere and rolled it to her, giggling. "Kick it! You can do it," she coaxed.
Violet put down her Salandit and kicked the ball hard, causing Crystal to trip over it and fall, scraping her knee. "My keen," she whined, a little bit of blood seeping from her scrape. "You didn't have to kick that hard!"
"That's what you get. Maybe you should watch were you're going," she told her, trying not to laugh.
Riolu confronted Violet, using telepathy. "You shouldn't be laughing at her! You should wanna help her when she's down! That's your sister!"
Salandit jumped in front of Violet, flames in her mouth, ready to hit Riolu with Ember, whereas Riolu formed a blue-and-white ball, ready to use Focus Blast. Crystal got up and stepped in betwixt the two Pokémon.
"Don't fight; we can talk it out!"
"One false move, and Riolu is toast. Literally toast!"
Alfred, the butler, peeked his head out the brown, wooden door. "The king wants to have a word with you two. It's concerned the throne."
Crystal wiped the dirt off her leg and went to the door. Violet shoulder-checked her from behind. "I'm getting that crown," she said coldly to her little sister.
