Mission 224: Akizo Tonamiya, 17 Years old, Job: Ranger, 2 years in, Solo Ranger, Rank 3 High Guard, ability: weaponization.

*Slam*, I took a hard hit, the wolf-like beast in front of me moving closer for another strike. There, a perfect object for the job... A Rock. I lunged towards it, barely grabbing it, and rolled back onto my feet. The cold stone shimmered in my hand, and I smiled. This was it. The beast made its move, starting out with several front jabs, narrowly dodging each one while I examined its attack patterns. "left, left, right, left, right", bullseye, I clenched the rock in my hand... and... NOW, the beast went for its 3rd left swing in the cycle, "Not today budy" effortlessly dodging, I swung the rock straight into its chest, piercing straight through its body, "Game over" I grabbed the disk that had been sitting on my belt for the past day, pushing away the beast and tossing the disk straight at it. The metal sliced clean through the head of the beast, completely killing it in the process. *Crumble* The remains of the beast had completely gone to ash, as all beasts do when they die. The rift in which the beast came sealed shut and vanished, the surrounding area rebuilding itself to before the fight, an unexplained wonder of the rifts, probably the only wonder of the rifts... "Hey, what time is i- oh", 8... 03... AM..." School starts at 7:30 AM... I nervously chuckled to myself, "Do I have the energy to talk myself out of this one?", the answer was yes, but I suck at telling lies... There it was, the school in all its glory, or, gloomy atmosphere... *whisper* "its him again", "did he get into another fight?", "guess so, that's why he has no friends". When you come to school dirty and scratched, other people obviously have to start rumors, It's especially bad when you've been doing it for 2 years straight. And so I became known as the Immortal Kid Slayer... A name bestowed alone me for "never losing a fight," which is what people think I'm doing before school... Or maybe I run a guild, teams built up of people who use their strength to cause problems, they're an annoying bunch of dudes, I have dealt with my, well, fair share of them as a ranger, they're usually nothing to worry about. "Well, Akizo Tonamiya. You. Are. Late..." "hehe, yes sir, I am late..." "Don't try to be smart with me, young boy." "Sorry, sir, I just had a run-in with some, well, work." "Doesn't matter, go back to class and *scary* Stay there", "Yes", I blurted as I got up, tucked in my chair, and excused myself out of the room. "Jeez, teachers these days", a blonde-haired girl walked into the teacher's room after I had left, wondering how she ended up going there too. 

It was just past 6 PM now, I have a lot of stuff I need to do still, but for now, *yell* "HEEEEY!", *yell back* "What!?", "Where in the world is my brush?", "What brush?", *angry* "the only damn brush here!". "You know, whenever you're here, it makes my life ever so much more difficult." "Yeah? Well, too bad, Tona, you should enjoy spending time with your siblings. "It's kind of hard to have a fun conversation with somebody who's 7 years younger than me", "rude", "not rude", "is too", "is not"... Sister problems.

*Riiing, Riiiing*, "gah, my ears", "why in the middle of the night?" I groaned. "Wait, *reading* uh", "You will have to fight this next one with another solo ranger as it's too strong for you alone, they should be about your level, so work well." Oh. I'm going to have to team up for this beast. I have never teamed up before, and I never planned to; I work perfectly fine on my own. I don't need another person slowing me down. *cough*, "ahh, I'm here... IT'S COLD", *distant crash*, "there they are", I looked around, ah, the stop sign that had been knocked over would do just fine. I prepared for a lance throw, and "FIRE", the pole flew right into the wing of the beast, to be more specific, a Lion-Bird Hybrid. *angry* "Hey, took you long enough!", "What do you mean, long enough? It's only been like 3 minutes. Anyway, what's your ability, and what should I call you?", "I'm Iroha, but you can call me Inisha, for my ability... I enhance things around myself" *mutter* "sounds like you would do well joining a team, "what was that?", "Nothing", guh- *shout* "Inisha, I'll need your co-operation in this!. My ability is pretty self centered so we'll have to work extra hard. *sigh* I have the ability to make anything I come in physical contact with a weapon...", "oh?", "we've stalled long enough, it's getting back up!" worse yet, the wing had healed itself, "are you ready?", "who do you think you're talking too?", *fwoosh*, there we go, the beast had flown back into the air. "Take these!" I handed her a rock, the other 2 stayed with me, "You know what to do!", "You don't have to tell me", *glisten*, the three rocks had lit up, "fascinating". I ran under the beast, chukig one into the air, the glowing effect seemed to make the rocks lose some of the grip gravity originally had on them. With one rock hanging around in the air and the other with Inisha, there were several possibilities in play here, but only one is guaranteed to work. "Inisha! Throw your rock at the third one once I throw it!" Exact positioning was needed for this to work, "3, 2, 1. Throw!" I launched the third rock, exactly 13 meters away from the second rock, "heiya!" She threw the first rock at lightning speed, smacking straight into the second, "The domino effect, every single collision will build up more momentum in the next rock". The second rock hit the third, sending it straight towards me, "Here we go" *SLAM* My fist collided with the rock, *crack* the force equal to one of a rocket shattered through my body, b-but that wasn't enough *cough*, The third rock was sent hurtling towards the beast in which had been preparing for a strike, "Night night" I smiled, the rock completely vaporizing the beast. I fell to my knees, gripping my now slightly broken arm, *worried* "Hey, are you ok?", "Yeah, don't worry about me, this is nothing trust". "Oh, I never got your name." "You don't really need to know, but since you gave me yours, I'm Tonamiya, Akizo Tonamiya." She smiled, "That's a nice name." "I should be going now, goodbye, uh... Inisha". *pat pat* my outfit never gets clean with the surrounding area after a fight, it's so damn annoying. "gaaah, what am I even doing this for anyway"

Back at home. Inisha Iroha, 17 years old, Job: Ranger, 1.2 years in, Solo Ranger, Rank 3 High Guard, ability: enhancement.

T-that battle, I felt so light, like I could do anything I wanted to. It has been a week since I went on my first-ever duo mission, and I don't know why, but I still feel an ache of something that I am missing out on, like a... regret of some kind, "ohw" I slouched in my chair, "how is he only a solo ranger... he seemed so well co-ordinated, if he never said he was solo, I never would have guessed"... "oh!" I know exactly what to do, I scrambled to the doorway, "Today! I'm going to do some... RECON". The Ranger Hall stood menacingly before me, *clutter*. There are always tons of people applying to become a ranger here, but few to none ever pass. The Rank 3 door was empty as usual; nobody but my fellow Rank 3s was allowed to enter through this door, it's like a reward for working so hard, but nobody asked for it. Inside was a massive desk, and 20 community receptionists were all busy talking to the people from the city, the Ranger Receptionists, however, had nobody to talk to. "Hey, I would like to ask about the Ranger R3 #2 Akizo. *cheerfuly* "Sure thing," the receptionist said without hesitation. "What do you want to know?" "I wanted to know why he does solo work instead of joining a team, he seems really good with it. "I see, well, let me check some old records. *shocked/grim* Oh, uh. I don't think I can disclose any information here. I am so very sorry, Ms".
