As the sun began to set, little (not really that little) Gracy Rays ran back to her home. Sitting at the edge of the hill was something Gracy had always loved doing but it seemed as if the hill didn't like her company so much, because little did Gracy know, it would be the last time visiting the edge of the hill, for quite some time.
What do I mean, you ask? I'll tell you…
Gracy pushed the front door open and walked into her home, the familiar scent of her mother's food hung above her nose. Gracy followed the smell, until she came into the kitchen.
Her parents stood together and seemed to be discussing something. Gracy had obviously not realised, because she barged in and hugged her father, "dad!" She said in glee.
Her father picked her up and twirled her around, "hey hey, my little pumpkin!" He said, before putting her down and handing her a cookie.
"Dad! How come you are back so soon from work today?" Gracy asked her father.
Her father looked at her mother, who nodded, in approval, "well Gracy," he began, in a soft voice, "I had to say goodbye!"
Gracy stared at her father in confusion, "why, dad? Are you going somewhere?"
Her father slowly shook his head, "no Gracy, your mother and I have decided to send you off, to a high school, a school where you don't come back to us everyday."
