South Labella, Toria
"Mom! I want to find Puru's family!" A young girl with bright red hair whined.
"No means no Merrie! It's too dangerous!" A black haired, green eyed, middle aged woman argued as she washed the dishes. "You're not ready."
The girl, now named 'Merrie', narrowed her green eyes rebelliously and lifted up a small creature with green fur from her legs. She walked over the woman and pushed the creature in front of her face.
"Puru tell Mom you want to go home!" Merrie ordered the creature, who just blinked at the woman confused.
Merrie's mother smiled and rubbed Puru's head affectionately, "Good boy Puru. See Merrie? Puru knows that I'm right." she says.
Said girl huffed and pulled the creature back, "Puru, you're supposed to be on my side! I'm your trainer..." she pouted.
The creature just rubbed his cone shaped nose on her cheek, making her annoyance disappear as she giggled.
Her mother smiled at them and pointed a soapy hand towards the front door.
"You guys can go train for now. I'll call you when dinner is ready." she said.
Merrie nodded before running out with Puru in her hands.
"Don't overdo it you tw-" Her mother went to say but the door had already closed. "Please don't mess up the yard again..." she sighed.
As soon as they got to their wide yard, Merrie placed the green creature on the ground and bent down to his level. "Okay Puru, if we can nail these moves Mom may let us go out on our own." she planned.
Puru looked at her blankly but seemed to understand as he got in a defensive stance.
Merrie stood up and smirked. "Let's do this! Puru use Nose D-"
"Look it's Meanie Merrie and her freaky pet!" A deep, boyish voice interrupted.
The red haired girl turned to the source and glared when she saw a group including two girls and three boys, all around her age, came towards them. Leading them was a tall, light skinned boy with shaggy, dirty blonde hair and light blue eyes.
"Don't you think you're too old to be using dumb names like 'Meanie', Olin." Merrie teased.
He glared at her and blushed, "Shut up Merrie!"
One of the girls stepped up and narrowed her brown eyes at Merrie, "You're the childish one here freak. Still playing with your creepy pet because you can't make friends." she flipped her pitch black hair.
Merrie clicked her tongue, "I don't need friends if they're like you guys. And for the record Celia, I was talking to Olin not you. You should stop sticking your pointy nose where it doesn't belong!"
"Pointy! Damn you Merrie!" Celia ran at the red head with anger and punched her. The others except Olin cheered her on as she hit Merrie repeatedly.
"Stop it Celia!" Olin shouted.
Merrie grit her teeth and slammed her forehead into the Celia's harshly, making the girl pull back and hold her head in pain. She went to hit her again only to be beaten by Puru running at Celia and head butting her off of Merrie.
Olin caught her before she could fall. The others watched in fear as the creature growled at them.
Merrie sat up and rested her hand on Puru's head, calming him. "See what happens when you mess with me.." she smirked with a little blood sliding down her cheek.
The boys and girls ran off, leaving Olin to carry a shaking Celia.
Olin looked at her with apologetic eyes, "I'm so sorry about this Merrie...let me.." he reached his hand out to wipe her lips.
Merrie slapped his hand away and stood up with Puru in her arms, "Save it! Just leave me alone..." she walked away with a slight limp.
To be continued...
