The camera sweeps over a somber-looking village nestled between dark hills.

Shadows stretch across the cobblestone streets. We hear distant howls from

the woods. Villagers bustle about, casting wary glances toward the treeline.

NARRATOR (V.O.)

In a world where darkness has begun to reign, legends of a past long

forgotten whisper through the winds. Three great men, once revered as the

elemental dragons, gifted power to the worthy. But their reign ended in

shadow, leaving only the promise of a prophecy.

KALEN'S HOUSE - CONTINUOUS

A small, dilapidated house stands at the edge of the village. KALEN, 17,

scruffy-haired and brooding, stares out the window, lost in thought. His brow is

furrowed in frustration.

KALEN

(sighs)

Another day...

His MOTHER, a weary woman in her 30s, enters, placing a hand on his

shoulder.

MOTHER

Kalen, dinner is ready. You need to eat.

KALEN

(pulls away)

I’m not hungry, Mom.

He turns back to the window, watching a group of boys laughing and playing

outside.

MOTHER

(softly)

You can’t let them get to you. You’re stronger than you think.

Kalen rolls his eyes, annoyance creeping onto his face.

KALEN

Stronger? If I were stronger, I wouldn’t be stuck in this village.

His mother gives a sad smile before exiting. Kalen stares out the window, the

laughter of the other boys echoing in his ears.

VILLAGE CENTER - NIGHT

The villagers gather around a flickering torch. An ELDERLY MAN, with a long

beard, shares tales of the dragons’ powers. Kalen, hiding in the shadows,

listens attentively.

ELDERLY MAN

In times of peril, it is said the ice dragon, the fire dragon, and the lightning

dragon will return! Their power will bring either salvation or doom.

Kalen’s eyes widen, hunger for purpose lingering in his heart. Nearby, a group

of bullies spot him.

BULLY 1

Look who it is—the loser who thinks he’s destined for greatness!

They laugh and approach him. Kalen’s heart races, but he stands his ground.

KALEN

(defiantly)

I’m not afraid of you!

Bully 2 shoves Kalen. He stumbles back but regains his footing, filled with

anger.

BULLY 2

Oh really? Maybe we should teach you a lesson about fear!

They move in to surround Kalen, but suddenly a loud howl echoes through the

woods. The villagers freeze, fear creeping into their eyes.

ELDERLY MAN

The forest... it’s restless!

Kalen’s expression shifts from anger to intrigue as he watches the villagers

back away, nervous. The bullies also hesitate.

EDGE OF THE FOREST - NIGHT

Kalen walks toward the trees, drawn by an unseen force. Shadows flicker

among the gnarled branches. He stops, feeling the weight of something

ancient and powerful.

KALEN

(whispering to himself)

Could the dragons really return?

As he steps closer, a sudden gust of wind whips through the trees, chilling

him. Whispers resonate from the HOLLOW TREE nearby.

WHISPERING VOICE

The ice awakens... the ice remembers...

Wide-eyed, Kalen looks around but sees no one. Suddenly, a SHADOWY

FIGURE darts between the trees, sending him tumbling backward.

VILLAGE CENTER - LATER

Kalen stumbles back into the village, disheveled and panting. The villagers

watch him with concern.

MOTHER

Kalen! What happened?

KALEN

(breathless)

I... I don’t know. I saw something...

The villagers exchange worried glances. The Elderly Man steps forward.

ELDERLY MAN

(narrowing his eyes)

The shadows are growing stronger. We must not take this lightly.

As the villagers murmur amongst themselves, Kalen slowly walks to the edge

of the crowd, glancing back toward the forest.

KALEN’S HOUSE - NIGHT

Kalen lies in bed, the whispers of the HOLLOW TREE echoing in his mind. He

closes his eyes, but sleep eludes him. Instead, he sees visions of a

FROST-COVERED LAND and the forms of DRAGONS soaring above.

Suddenly, a SHADOWY FIGURE appears in his dreams, looming over him.

SHADOWY FIGURE

(ominously)

The time is near, Kalen... the ice shall awaken. Will you answer the call?

Kalen jolts awake, breathing heavily, eyes wide in the darkness. Real fear

grips him now.

VILLAGE OF ELMSHIRE - DAWN

The first rays of dawn break, illuminating the village. Kalen walks through the

market, his expression clouded with contemplation.

Kalen spots ELARA, a mysterious girl who often intrigues him. She catches

his eyes and offers a knowing smile.

ELARA

You felt it too, didn’t you? The call of the ancients?

Kalen looks stunned, hesitating as he approaches her.

KALEN

You know about it?

They share a moment, the air thick with unspoken connection.

ELARA

(softly)

The prophecy speaks of three dragons... and their chosen ones. Something

stirs in the depths.

Kalen looks back toward the woods, determination beginning to swell in his

chest.

KALEN

I need to find out more. I need to know about the dragons.

Elara nods, her demeanor serious.

ELARA

Then we must prepare. The darkness is coming, Kalen.

Their eyes lock, the weight of fate heavy between them. The villagers bustle

around them, unaware of the chain of events about to unfold.
