It all happened on a normal sunny day in June where I was on my way to a date with a girl. Having been introduced to her by a friend just the day before and because she was a real beauty while I was just your average looking male, I could not stop feeling inferior. Walking down the street, I kept thinking about my upcoming date.

"Will I be able to please her. How could a virgin like me possibly date someone like her. Maybe I should turn back and avoid the humiliation of being rejected. There is no way this will turn out fine."

Being completely lost in my negative thoughts, I failed to take notice of a speeding car which was approaching the intersection I was crossing. As it was too late for the car to slow down and avoid a fatality, I was tragically run over and died on the spot.

A few moments afterwards, I realized that I was still conscious. Having opened my eyes, I found myself in a place, where I could see nothing but emptiness in the distance. I stood up and before me was an old man wearing a white robe with adornments on each arm. He had a receding hairline and a long white beard. Being still in the phase of coming to terms with my recent death, I must have stared at him with a dumbfounded face. He looked at me with a kind smile, symbolizing his familiarity with my kind of behavior. After I had settled down, he introduced himself and started to explain the current situation.

"Welcome young human. I am one of many godly beings and this is the realm where I am in charge of reincarnating all dead life coming from earth. You probably have many questions, but let me just tell you this first.

I will judge your previous life performance according to a general guideline indicating good behavior. Depending on the outcome, you will then be reincarnated as an appropriate life form. Do you have any questions?"

The family that I left behind came immediately to my mind, and so I asked, "What will happen to my family?"

He said monotonically, "Unfortunately, I can't influence the life of people still living on earth. There is nothing I can do to help them." like he had to use this answer many times before.

After remembering all the time I spent with my family, I realized that they always mistreated me and had never any respect towards me at all. With this in mind, I said to the godly being, "Ok, then...then please start with the process of my reincarnation."

"Do you not grieve the deaths of your parents and your younger sister? You answered so nonchalantly, as if you just don't care."

"Actually....no. My sister would always bully me, and my parents always believed the lies that she told them. After thinking about all my experiences with them, where I just took quietly all the blame on me and never retaliated, I am just glad that this is over."

"Well...ok. Sorry to hear you had such a hard life till now; Hopefully after the reincarnation, your life will be filled with the happiness you deserve. OK, then let us stop with the empty chatter and start to judge your previous life."

Suddenly a big screen appeared in front of us. On the screen, I could see every single one of my important life events being replayed in some kind of fast-forward mode. After the first event was over, I could see a big 'C' covering the screen.

"This is the grade you get for your behavior in this event." he stated calmly.

To further explain the next steps, he said, "After we are done with judging every important event of your life, your reincarnation will begin."

[Ten hours later]

"Congratulations, your behavior got graded as Rank A-" notified me the old man and continued, "This result is really rare, and you will be reincarnated as a legendary beast in a fantasy world with magic and swords."

Wanting to avoid the inevitable attention I will draw towards me, being a legendary beast, I tried to request being reborn as a human.

"Would it be possible to reincarnate me as a human instead?"

"No!"

He shouted this so suddenly and out of character that I got startled for a short moment. After I calmed down, he began to explain, "Every rank is tied to one specific life form to be reincarnated as, and there is no room for negotiation."

Unable to accept that ranks are tied to specific life forms, I once more tried to confirm, "Is there really no other way?"

"Sorry, but this is a set rule which I have to obey. Otherwise, I would get into a lot of trouble with my superiors. I won't break this rule just for a mere human like you. Be happy that you even get the chance to reincarnate."

Immediately afterwards, I noticed that my body began glowing with a golden aura and every part from foot to head turned translucent.

"Looks like your time is up. It's time for your next life. I wish you good luck, farewell." God hastily explained to me while my view turned white.

The next time I opened my eyes, I was already laying on a big, green plain surrounded by a thick forest. After standing up, I looked around and found a small lake in the center of the plain. Being curious what my new species looks like, I immediately rushed over to find out as what kind of beast I got reincarnated.

"No way....is this for real" I could not believe my eyes, "Am I really a baby dragon?"
