Have you had a dream that you really wanted to make when you were a child? If I have one, I will be a designer. Since I was a kid, I loved watching fashion shows on TV and then poured everything I had seen into my pictures. Luckily, my parents always supported me in that. Even though our family is not a very rich family, my father always said that I had to make my dream come true. Because success can not only be achieved by rich people but people who have determination and ability. Since then, all that crossed my mind was my desire to become a great designer like my idol, William Savior.

"Papa!! Mama!! Joya mau jadi designer!!" I said aloud to them when I had truly confirmed my dream. (Dad! Mom! Joya wants to be a designer!)

"Hah? Designer?"  Mom answered in a puzzled tone. (Huh? Designer?)

"Itu!! Yang bikin baju itu lho!!" I explained, who was still burning with enthusiasm. (That ! The one who made the clothes, you know !!)

Daddy, who was reading the newspaper while listening to our conversation, also asked, "Kayak gitu kuliahnya dimana?" (Then where did you go to college?)

"Di Jakarta??" (In Jakarta?)

"Di Jakarta memang ada sih tapi, aku maunya kuliah di Amerika Serikat. Bolehkan?" I put a cute face in front of them while begging. (There are indeed in Jakarta but, I want to study in United States. Please)

"Boleh kok." Mom said. (Sure)

I quickly walked over to my mother and hugged her. "Maaci, mama yang paling baik deh." (Thank You, Mom. You're the best)

"Tapi harus pakai beasiswa." A forbidden word I didn't want to hear finally came out of my mama's mouth. It's impossible for me.... (But you have to use a scholarship)

"Hahahaha... bener tuh kata mama kamu. Lagipula gaji papa juga pas-pasan. Mau gak mau kamu harus pake beasiswa kalau mau daftar kuliah di Amerika." My dad said. (Hahahaha ... that's true, your mother said. Besides, father's salary is mediocre. Like it or not you have to use a scholarship if you want to register to study in United States)

Since that day I studied harder than usual to get the scholarship.  Besides that, I also tried to learn English to make it easier for myself when studying there and also to take the TOEFL test, one of the requirements for studying there.  As a result I passed with very satisfying scores as well as the TOEFL test.

Now all I have to do is enroll in a university in the United States, the San Francisco College of Fashion, which happens to be opening a scholarship program.  After I finished registering, all I had to do was wait.  Honestly waiting for the uncertain thing is really annoying.  People say, every patience will surely bear sweet fruit in its time and it really happened.

The day I was tired of waiting, a notification arrived on my cell.  It turned out to be an e-mail notification that I was accepted as a student there.  It was fun.  I immediately ran to the kitchen and hugged my mother who was cooking, with a loud voice and sobs I said, "Mama...Joya dapat beasiswa."  Then my college life began. (Mom... Joya got a scholarship)

Being able to go to college to get a scholarship does sound exciting.  Especially if you study at a university that is included in the list of the best universities in the world.  The most happy thing is being able to study in a department that we like.  But every time there is such thing as happy there is also something called sad.  The problem is this is really difficult and very complicated.  Even so I will keep trying.  Because I'm sure that nothing is impossible in this world.
