"Truth"

As I lay there  bleeding out, slumped against the jagged peice of wall, that remained, in the field  of destruction, my breath deepened, and i could feel that I was approaching  my final moments. There,in front of me stood Vecta, basking  in his victory with his well toned physique,slick jawline and jet black hair moving slightly in the cold wind that passed through and the black shadow like mark that followed from his abdomen up to his face. All this coupled  with such a menacing  aura, that even the wind would not blow harshly, this man was a truly terrfiying sight to behold.I thought it was rather embarrasing for him to be wearing an unzipped jacket with nothing underneath, no armor could be seen, not that he needed it, with his already extremely strong defences. For a brief moment, I took in the state in which our battle field  was in; several buildings destroyed and the oil tanks  left in pieces from the explosion, even a part of the dock was left destroyed. I felt so, pathetic. What a pitiful  way to die; having not landed a fatal blow on my opponent,  but being only able to draw  a few drops of blood, that should have been obvious, that I was out matched. I was a man fighting basically  a god, or more  accurately  a devil. The laws of nature didn't apply to him , and I was so much weaker, than him, so why did I even continue fighting? Even after he had landed such a fatal blow to my abdomen; leaving  a hole right through  me. Why did I want to get up, and keep trying? As I lay there in this bloodied  battle field, slumped against this wall, bleeding out, something broke the strained awkward  silence. 

Vecta spoke- "You know..... Only the strong survive, in this messed up world, the weak are left defenseless. And die."

His words cut deep, as this sentiment  was true, it was the unspoken law that the world abided by. Him being one of the strong and me being one of the weak, maybe the weakest vigilante, there ever was.I refrained  from sympathizing  with a villain, who had killed countless innocent civilians, but his words carried meaning, that I did sympathize  with. His voice was deep, and strong, but seemed to carry great sadness.

I replied to his sentiment, barely able to draw breath- "So then why  am I not dead yet?" 

There was no reply,he just solemnly stared at me and i couldn't  hear anything, only a loud ringing, this deafening  ringing continued, and I slowly lost consciousness......

I awoke in my bed feeling, tired and afraid, even though  it was morning and I would soon be late  for school. My butler Reid opened the door, reminding me that I would be late, to school, if I didn't  get there in 20 minutes. 

I actually  ended up making it to school on time. I had already  learnt the syllabus  for the, school term, and so I asked the teachers to let me take the test early, in which I passed with one hundred percent. All I really  came to school for, was for the experience of a school life. My school  day went pretty boring, then my friend  Akira called me to the roof after school and said he had to talk to me about something important. Knowing  Akira, i assumed that he was going to ask me to pay for snacks  and drinks this evening, or maybe he would prank me.

VECTA POV:

"Are you finished?" I questioned  my subordinates, "I expect results!"

 Asher; the  pale  looking ghost of a human stepped forward and bowed before me, his men then bowed following him. Asher's  appearances  may fool someone, but he is a high ranking super-human, mafia member.

Asher mumbled softly"Yes sir, all preparations  are complete"

"Good" I replied.

 Now we wait 

Christopher  POV:

After school I headed to the rooftop to meet Akira.

"Yo Akira, where are you bro?" I asked as I opened the door to the roof 

There was a brief pause, then I heard him call out to me from the left. I turned my head to see him by the fence, peering out into the distance. This wasn't  usual behavior  for Akira , he would normally  be cheerful.

I asked him what was wrong, but he didn't answer  me. I then saw him climb onto the fence. My heart dropped as he climbed to the very top of the fence. I questioned  what he was about, to do in my head, as so many sad thoughts ran through  my mind. This wasn't  a prank, he would never  do something  so dangerous just for a prank I told myself.

My body  moved for itself, my scrawny unathletic  body moved on its own. I felt like time slowed down in this instant as I saw my best friend plummet beyond my sight over the edge, his blonde hair flailing wildly, my heart could have broken out of my rib cage. I felt a sense of anxiety rush over me as I scrambled towards the fence. My body  felt heavy, like I  was running  with a weighted  vest on, this was what i got for never wanting to excercise and build muscle. The tears rushed to my eyes, as I contemplated  his reasoning  for this. He was always happy and cheerful, and never  seemed to hide anything from me . So why!? Why would he want to commit  suicide? As I reached the fence, I saw a red blur and, straight ahead of me,  looked up into the sky, meters above me and there he was!  Floating upon graceful flames , he was unharmed, but more importantly,Akira  was an

 Astra!

Astra  is a term for their profession , even though it is secretive, astra  is a well know profession  of military  standard  and pays well. Astras' identities  are kept  hidden by the government.}>

Christopher  POV: 

Ever since I was younger I always looked up to the Astras , they were the champions  that fought horrid mana beasts to protect  humanity. And now  I was meeting one, in person.I was speechless  to say the least.

Akira floated down to me upon his fire, my jaw still dropped. This was rather, peculiar  as the government  stated that any astras  that were minors (-18) would die, due to their body not being able to handle the immense poer stored within. 

 As Akira looked down at me with solemn eyes, an awkward silence lingered in the atmosphere.

 Suddenly breaking this silence however, Akira spoke in a serious tone,"I'm going to reveal  to you, my friend....... The truth about the Astras..........."
