"Every each one of them being annoying. Who would like to work there?! I wouldn't even work there if I had a choice!" Hee-Young grumbles as she climbs up the mountains early in the morning. Carrying her backpack on her back, huffing as she climbs up the rocky mountains, she fell on her butt as she was tired.
Sitting in her desk and doing her and her co workers jobs that was piled onto her, she don't have a time to do some exercises as she was tired doing all the paperworks that was piled onto her. Why is she grumbling and climbing the mountains early in the morning you ask? I'll tell you why.
Hee-Young Seong, 28 years old, unemployed, left her job after being pushed around by superiors and having uncooperative co-workers who only gave her their works leaving her doing an all-nighter more than two times a week. She saved up some money and decided to quit her job and decided to live in the mountains her Grandmother left her.
She climbed up the mountains early in the morning and that was when she realized she needed to exercises a lot more. Huffing at every each step, she feels like she's about to die.
The surroundings are not that bad. Trees around her, flowers that grew anywhere, green leaves, and animals. She stood up after resting a bit and continued to walk.
After climbing the mountains for 30 minutes, it was worth it. She saw her Grandmother's house. It was an old house but there's a lot of memories in it. When she was a child she would visit her Grandma's house with her parents and she would talk and laugh with her Grandma.
She walked towards the house and opened the door. When she got inside she feels nostalgic. She still remember how she would play and run around in the hallway, and cleaning with her Grandma. She opened the room where her Grandma would sit in her rocking chair with Hee-Young sitting on her lap as her Grandma would read her a story. After climbing the mountains for 30 minutes she was tired. She went to her room and took a nap.
When she woke up it was already 12 noon. She took a rag and a bucket of water and cleaned every corner of the house. It took cleaning more longer as she spent more time looking at things she found nostalgic. She ended up not finishing her task. It was already 5 PM and she only finished cleaning the kitchen and the bathroom and 2 rooms.
Realizing she haven't took a bath yet she took a shower and she felt hungry she cooked an instant noodles she bought on her way to the mountains. She felt satisfied living here. Living in a peaceful environment surrounded by trees and plants, surrounded by beautiful flowers, no people insight, birds happily tweeting, and a beautiful lake nearby the house that can be seen in her window.
Life like this isn't so bad at all. Living away from society, no one to judge you, no one who will hate you, no one to discriminate you, and no one to annoy you. Being alone is not bad at all. It's one of her greatest happiness in life. Forcing herself to do what the society wants her to do, people who looks only at your mistakes, people who judge you, people who looks down on you, and hyprocrites. She wanted to avoid them. What good will happen if you just do what society wants? She doesn't have the luxury to please others. She will only please who she wants to please.
Once again she rested in her bed thinking what she will do from now on. "I'll plant some vegestables and fruits nearby and catch some fish then go down to buy some groceries and pay some bills." She muttered to herself thinking it's not a bad idea. Slowly after she fell into a deep sleep she needed it after all.
'Basement... Go down' a couple of eyes said.
"Why would I?" Hee-Young asked to the eyes slightly afraid of it.
"Go... Save him..." the couple of eyes all said together as they disappeared everything went black once again.
She jolted awake. "What was that?" She muttered to herself. Hee-young is curious why that was her dream. It was the same what her Grandma said when she was still a child.
She remembered what her Grandma said to her "My dear, do not ever open this door." Her Grandma said. "Why is that, Grandma?" Young Hee-Young asked her Grandma. "When you grow up and tired of society go back to this house and live here and once you dream of eyes telling you to go here go and open this door without hesitation." Her Grandma said as she ruffled her precious Grandaughter's hair and smiled gently at her. Young Hee-Young didn't understood any of that so she shrugged it off but never forget about it. She stood up went straight to thebasement wanting to know what was there.
The basement door creaked very loudly it seems like it wasn't used for a couple of decades. She opened the door and the place is full of dust and spider webs. Everything was covered in white cloth. She saw something bulging in one of the cloth. She removed it and saw a pendant with a spiral design. She opened it and found a piece of paper inside. 'Save him' the note said. "Who is he? there's a lot of males. How could I know who to save?" She said not having a bit of clue.
She looked around and uncovered everything opened every drawers finding every clue there is. She only found only tables and chairs but there's one thing- a mirror. A very mysterious looking mirror.
"Everything seems straight out of a novel."
What makes the mirror mysterious is her reflection... it is not her. A different person. She find it scary since not only the reflection the problem, the mirror is wavy and it was as if it was telling her to go in. Her gut feeling is also telling her to go and touch it.
She touched the mirror and her fingers sank in. This freaked her out a lot but she had the feeling to go in as if it was telling her to go in. She went inside with a little bit of hesitation. Everything was pitch black and that freaked her out. "Hello?" She shouted calling for anyone.
A couple of eyes showed up- the same ones in her dreams.
"Who is he?" She asked already annoyed with the 'he' thinking why couldn't they just tell the name already. But all of them still repeatedly saying 'Save him' in unison and repeatedly. They started to slowly disappear once again but Hee-Young is already annoyed with the 'he' that they are all talking about.
"I'm telling you to say who is that 'he'?! how could I save him if I couldn't even know his name?!" Hee-Young who is already annoyed that her free time are slowly drifting away from her as they were telling her to go save someone she doesn't even know the name is her patience is thinner than a hair.
After being tired of society, Hee-Young Seong, 28 years old, left her job after being pushed around by superiors and having uncooperative co-workers she left her job without any hesitation and went into the mountains to live in her Grandmother's house. But after dreaming something what her Grandmother said her life started to change more than what she expected.
"I shouldn't have touched that mirror."
Claude Hale, 30 years old, the current duke of Analia, and single. The duke who hates talking more than anyone else and scaring everyone with his blue eyes, no one dares to approach him. Approaching him feels like approaching a wild lion that can kill you in a second. He was called as the Ice Duke, but why did the Duke soften up in a person he met just a second ago?
"The you a few seconds ago doesn't matter. The you who is in front of me is the one who matters."
