"Run Timo, Run! If you don't want to catch a cold then run", I yelled as we both ran across the rainy park. We reached my house all soaked with water from tip-to-toe. My mother came shouting as I rang the doorbell, "Sam Philius Harper! How many times have I told you not to go out and play? Do you think I was just against you having fun? I told you so because the weather report said it was going to rain cats and dogs in the afternoon. But do you ever listen to me? No!" I looked at Timo giving him a -this-is-going-to-take-a-while- look as my mother continued, "And this time you didn't fool around alone. You just had to call Sam. What if he catches a cold? Are you willing to take responsibility if he falls sick?"
Mother kept staring at me for a while. I thought she had more to say but suddenly she took a deep breath. I then knew that she was done scolding. She scolds me in the same way whenever I make a mistake and when it is time to stop she would take a deep breath. "Well, you cannot undo what you did. But don't do it again. Go to the bathroom and take a bath. And bathe with hot water."
"Boy! Mrs. Harper was intense. I felt like meeting the devil", said Timo as we walked towards the bathroom. I looked at him and laughed. We’ve known each other since we were 2 years old so I was fine with him saying about my mom in that manner, and I did so too sometimes and Timo doesn't mind too.
