Camilla Devan was a girl with a life is so messed up you'd have better luck drinking all the world's oceans that making it seem normal.
It's been messed up for such a long time that she didn't even know what a normal life was like.
Everyone adored her and wanted to be friends with her. Her smile could light up a room and whenever she did something everyone stopped what they were doing to look at her.
She was extremely beautiful with her ebony colored hair and emerald green eyes that made everyone around her stare like she was some sort of precious jewel and a British accent that most people were envious of.
All they saw was a façade to hide from her terrible private life which she would never wish to relive and would never wish the same thing upon her worst enemies.
As she put on her lip-gloss staring at her mirror, she kept repeating one thing in her head: This is a new school in a new place where you're a junior in high-school. Nobody has to know who you are. All they know is that you are Camilla Devan the new student.
She had taken the bus to school since she had just moved to a little town called Venaza from Wales, England.
She had worn a hoodie and the hood was over her face so nobody would see her face.
She got out of the bus and removed her hoodie to face her new school: Saebom High.
She looked around and saw hundreds of students walking into the school.
"It's now or never." She muttered.
She walked into the school with her head held high and everyone inside started to stare and then the murmuring began.
Girls started dragging their boyfriends towards them, guys were staring at her awestruck, the cheerleaders were eyeing her in disgust while the rest were throwing her passing glances and tapping their friends then pointing at her.
Camilla was used to the stares and the muttering and the backward glances but that didn't mean she had to like it.
Sure she loved travelling the world and meeting new people but did they have to stare at her like that? It made her uncomfortable and nervous but over the years she'd learned to cope with it so it didn't bother her as much and when the people were actually talking to her instead of just staring she enjoyed the attention.
She looked around and smiled and as if coming out of a trance, they started walking around and some people even walked over and said hi.
"Hey new girl, I'm Elizabeth but you can call me Liz." A girl –Elizabeth– said beside Camilla and holding a hand out for her to shake.
"Hi Liz, I'm Camilla." She said accepting Liz's shake.
"Oh my God!" Liz squealed and Camilla looked confused at her outburst.
"What happened?" Camilla asked.
"You have a British accent and you're incredibly gorgeous! I'm so jealous." Liz said but by her tone you could tell she actually wasn't jealous.
"Thanks. I have to go now." Camilla said and looked around.
To anyone passing by, she looked completely lost and that was because she was completely lost. She was new to this school and town.
"Do you need some help to find the secretary's office?" Liz asked.
"That would be really nice. Thank you." She replied smiling sincerely.
They walked to the secretary's office while Liz asked a lot of questions while some Camilla tried to avoid.
"Where are you from?"
"A small town in Britain."
"Are you new here?"
"Yeah, I just moved a few days ago."
"Where from?"
"Wales."
"What do your parents do?"
"My mom is a doctor and my dad is a business man." Lie.
"Why did you move?"
"My mother was moved here so we followed her." Another lie.
"How are your parents like?"
Camilla looked around trying to find a way to avoid answering that question.
"Isn't that the secretary's office?" She said instead.
"Yeah. Let's get your timetable." Liz said.
They walked inside and Camilla gave the secretary a small smile.
"Good morning, I'm Camilla Devan and I'd like to collect my timetable."
The secretary smiled as she handed her the timetable and map.
"I hope you have a nice time." The secretary said.
As they walked out, Liz stared at her in shock.
"What's wrong Liz?" She asked.
"The secretary is never nice. She always frowns and doesn't care about the students. Looks like you've tamed the lion." Liz said.
"I didn't do anything." Camilla said.
Liz shook her head at her.
"Whatever you say. Anyway, what do you have first?" Liz asked.
"Homeroom. Room 209 with Mr Harper." She replied.
"Aw. I have Homeroom with Miss Daisy. You are so lucky. Mr Harper is cool and laid back while Miss Daisy is a witch in a woman's body."
"Sorry you had to go to class with a 'witch'." She put air quotes around witch then laughed.
"Laugh all you want Camilla. If you were in her class then you wouldn't be laughing."
Camilla was full blown laughing and after a few moments, Liz joined her.
When they had calmed down a little, Liz spoke.
"Let me see your timetable."
She showed her the timetable.
09:00-10:00 Homeroom. Room 209 Mr Harper
10:00-11:00 Biology. Room 213 Miss Ella
11:00-12:00 Art. Room 238 Miss Janet

01:00-02:00 Lunch. Cafeteria

"Cool. We have all our classes together except homeroom and math." Liz said.
"Well, bye Liz. See you in Biology." Camilla said and with that, they walked to their different classes.
