Episode One: "Protect Everyone"

Episode One

“Who do you think it's gonna be!? Jetstream? Ironside? Fabulous Fox? Whoever our teacher is, they'd better be strong, I’d hate to be stuck with someone from the clean up crew”. Brock said to Danny as they were walking home. “I still can’t believe we had to do our entire freshman year of high school in one summer just to qualify for this school.. but it was worth it, because tomorrow we officially enroll in the ETFA, the fastest way to the Force… bro, are you even listening?”. Danny was looking off in the other direction, “Yeah, my bad man. I feel like I keep hearing people yelling”. Brock laughs, “are you sure you aren't just nervous? You are the first person to enroll in the ETFA with no ET in over 10 years”. “I know how hard I’ve worked so I'm not too worried, I just hope they actually give me a chance to-”. They hear yelling in the distance, “Don't play games old man, give me the money”!! Brock and Danny reach the corner of the street and turn into a robbery taking place across the street. Two thugs are holding a man with his wife and kid at gunpoint. Vigilante work is against the law, but Brock could not just sit and watch. He sprinted across the street, and reached the other side in just a couple steps. The thug closest to the street had no time to react, and Brock hit him with a punch to the ribs. Danny could hear the crack from across the street. He drops his gun and falls to the ground, wheezing and gasping for air. The second thug grabbed the Mother and held the gun to her head as a hostage. “Just walk away before you get hurt! This ain't the movies, kid”. Brock smiled and crouched down getting ready to attack. BANG!! A bullet whizzed past Brock’s shoulder. He looked back up and saw the thug was running away, he jumped onto the thugs back tackling him to the ground. While on his back, Brock grabbed the back of the thug’s head and lifted his face off of the ground. “This is real life,” he said. “Are you guys okay? Please come with me this way, Brock can handle these guys” Danny reassured as he was helping the family off the ground and to safety. BANG!! Everyone froze. Danny turned, and the first thing he saw was the first thug helping the second to his feet, and they both stumbled away down the street. Danny looked down and laying in a pool of blood was Brock. The first thug he had knocked down had gotten back up, grabbed his gun, and shot Brock in the back through his lung. Danny sprinted over to his dying friend with tears already in his eyes. He tried to put pressure on the wound but it was no use. “His ET is an acid type….. *Heavy Breathing* he must have coated his bullets before the robbery”. “Just stop talking Brock, it's gonna be okay…the police are already-” Brock started to smile, “It's up to you now bro….. protect skylar… protect our neighborhood… protect everyone”. Brock lost consciousness and eventually Died in Danny's arms, and he held his lifeless body crying until the police arrived on the scene. He didn't notice but while holding Brock's body his hand that was around Brock's neck supporting his head started to glow, and the glow traveled up his arm and into one of the empty circles on Danny's neck…

Danny woke up the next day to his mom calling him down for breakfast. He gets out of bed and heads to the bathroom. While washing his face, looking in the mirror he notices that one of the seven marks on his neck has been filled in. He tries to rub it off but it doesn’t come off. Confused, Danny begins to wonder if he may have an ET. “I don’t feel any different” he thought to himself. “Danny! Hurry up!” his sister yelled up the stairs. When he gets down stairs his mom and sister are sitting at the table getting ready to eat and he joins them. “Hey Aunt Dena!!” Danny and his little sister yell, as their aunt walks in through the front door. “Hey Abigail, my little princess. And hey Danny, my future protector, are you ready for your first day at your new school?” Danny is still very shaken from the night before, “Yeah, if they don't kick me out for being useless…” he mumbled. “Aww don’t beat yourself up baby, I’m sure Brock is up there, very proud of you for sticking to both your dreams, he’ll always be with you every step of the way” His mom said. “Knowing Brock he is probably counting on you!” Dena added. Danny remembered Brock's last words.. “*Protect skylar…. Protect our neighborhood, Protect everyone*”. 

After breakfast, Abigail stayed home with Aunt Dena and Danny’s mom took him to school. During the car ride Danny was lost in thought while looking out the window, he remembered back to 6th grade summer when Brock told him and Skylar that he wanted to begin training to go to the ETFA(they were only 11 at the time), but their families let them eat their ET fruit a year early on their 12th birthday to prepare. Brock’s parents were kind people who were very active in their community. One night walking home from a charity event, they were killed in front of him by a dangerous group that ran their neighborhood. Because of this he promised to train every day so that once he obtained his ET that he would always be able to protect the ones he loved. As years passed, the same group grew in size and eventually took over the town, forcing the same people that he and his family helped take care of to work for them against their will doing illegal activities. And eventually his promise became to not only protect the ones he loves but everyone. “We’re here!” Danny’s mom said as they pulled into the drop off zone of ETFA. The campus was huge, and the drop off was at the very front of the school. There were 4 buildings in a diamond formation, the entrance led to the gymnasium and the other 3 buildings were classrooms and offices. Behind the buildings lined 3 coliseum style stadiums, the whole campus was over 200 acres. “I love you baby, call me if you or Skylar need anything from home… and I’m proud of you bud”. “Thanks mom, see you later!” Danny called back as he jumped out of the car. As he was walking up he spotted Skylar walking his way. As she got closer he could already feel the emotions coming to the surface. Normally Skylar is fairly reserved, but she couldn't help but shed a tear as they hugged each other. “I’m gonna crush everyone of those assholes,” Skylar said quietly. They didn't say any words after that, but when they looked into eachothers eyes they both understood that this was the start of a new chapter, and once they step into this school they were no longer doing this for themselves but for their best friend and the people of their neighborhood as well.

As they walk up the steps to the gymnasium, Skylar notices that one of Danny's 7 circles on his neck is no longer empty and is filled in. He explains that when he woke up it was there but he didn't feel any different. As they walked into the building, school staff were greeting students and handing out pieces of paper "Grab a ticket and head to the auditorium marked on the ticket you pulled!" Danny grabbed a ticket marked auditorium Z. Skylar grabbed a ticket marked auditorium Y, she looked over at a student next to her with an auditorium z ticket. "Hey!" she said smiling, "mind if i see your ticket?" The boy smiled, sure! She then took his ticket and threw her ticket at him and said, “thanks” sarcastically and walked away. Danny apologized embarrassed. "Hurry Up Danny!" Skylar yelled. They headed into Auditorium Z where roughly 150 students were sitting waiting for instruction. A teacher walks out and the room quiets down. He writes his name on the board, *Sir Vey*. "Hello everyone, my name is Sir Vey, My ET is a scanning type. I will be evaluating you today for orientation. This is not high school anymore, and only the most elite students will be accepted to ETFA. That being said, you all will be taking a written test and only the top 20 students will be kept! The same will hold true for the other two groups in auditorium X and Y. And the top students will form Class X, Y and Z," He then hands out the test and the students begin.

After the test they are instructed to head into the main gymnasium. Once they get inside the top 20 students for all 3 classes are already displayed on a big screen, Danny placed 2nd and skylar placed 10th. The bleachers are sectioned off 3 ways for each track. Those who did not place are asked to go home. Shortly after everyone who passed is seated, a lady with a beautiful set of angelic white wings flys down gracefully from the ceiling to the podium in the center of the gym. "Hello, my beautiful people. I am Professor Sky, Rank 4 protector Heavenly Sky. This is my first year teaching here at ETFA, and I can't wait to see what the youth has to offer. with that I'd like to announce that instead of the boring stuff they asked me to do, everyone meet in stadium A at the south East side of the campus in 5 minutes for a physical assessment!" then she flew off.

At the stadium field, Professor Sky explains the exercises, and how they will be graded. Just like the written test, students will be ranked 1-20 to see how they stack up against each other. The first assessment was a shot put throw. Skylar uses her Wind to push the shot put through the air as she throws, landing at 65 meters. Another student with a muscle ET throws for 89 meters. The last person to attempt the shot put throw is Danny, as he steps up to the platform to make his throw he is super nervous. He holds the ball and closes his eyes, and before he throws he thinks about Brock. as he pulls his arm back to throw, a surge of energy shoots through his body and his muscles feel as if they are vibrating. As the ball leaves his fingers you could hear the zip through the air as if a bullet was flying out of his hands. The shot landed at 111 meters, the whole class was shocked, especially Danny and Skylar. He walked back to the group and Skylar whispered to him, "What the hell was that!?", "I'm just as confused as you are, I have no idea but when I went to throw the ball my whole body-" Just then Danny remembered the day that Brock developed his ET. Brock explained that after eating the fruit his whole body began to feel tingly like energy was building up inside of him. "I think i have an ET similar to brocks..." Skylar smiled, "okay, we'll see about that" she said sarcastically. The students performed 6 other tests, measuring speed, jumping and other basic physical attributes, but Danny was unable to reactivate his new power during any of it. In the end danny ends up placing 16th overall while skylar placed 1st. After all the testing is complete a packet is handed out to all the students containing some school information and dorm room numbers. Students are instructed to head to their dorms to finish unpacking and rest for the first official day of school tomorrow.

Meanwhile in another city 3 protectors are fighting a violent gang on the city streets. They are getting completely destroyed, one protector charges forward with his fist pulled back. With his expand ET he enlarged  his fist before swinging his punch, but the thug was faster. He extended a sharp bone from his body using a bone marrow ET, and sliced clean through the protector charging. Another protector was running after the bone user for backup, but a second thug jumped up from behind the bone user. As the body of the sliced protector fell to the ground in two pieces, The second thug came down from the air with a punch that exploded on impact leaving the second protector's body in chunks. All four of the gang members start laughing, "Why are you doing this!? What is the point?" the last living protector asks. A tall man wearing black jeans, a black jacket and a dirty white t-shirt steps out..."To get rid of you and all the other *protectors*, to rid society of the ET Force altogether." Then the tall man remembers a day from his past... 

*Flashback* 

As a boy sleeps in bed, his mom in the other room is being tied up by a group of unknown people. During the commotion the young boy begins to wake up. As he flips his legs over to get out of bed his door flies open. Three masked men walk into the room and grab the boy. One of the men pours a flammable liquid around the room and down the hallway. They tie the boy to his bed and exit the room, as the last masked man exits the room he turns around and says, "I'm sorry". He couldn't see his face, but he'd recognize the voice anywhere... It was his father's. Who also happened to be hailed as one of the greatest protectors Ever. He then them in the house to burn. 

*End Flashback* 

"Who are you?" asks the last protector. "The tall man walks closer... "That doesn't concern you" And then he grabs the protector by the neck, lifts him off the ground. and starts to pull energy through his arm, erasing his ET in the process. As the last bit of ET energy is drained from the protector's body, The tall man throws his limp and weakened body to the side, looks up to the sky and closes his eyes as he feels the power he drained from the protector settle into his body. He then turns around and orders his men to finish him off then walks away.
