Synopsis:

After Eiran Halefire falls from his city’s clocktower and dies, he is given a second chance at life when an ancient parasite infects his body and keeps him alive, unlocking Eiran’s rare magical abilities in the process: all in exchange for one favor—kill Heath, the Prince of his Kingdom.

Should Eiran succeed, he will be free to live as he pleases.

But, should he fail, his body will be consumed by the ancient parasite and used to commit unimaginable deeds.

In theory, assassinating Prince Heath shouldn't be too difficult, especially after Eiran becomes Prince Heath's Royal Guard.

However, Eiran has a problem.

The Prince Eiran swore to kill has captured Eiran’s heart with his looks and wit.

Murdering the man of his dreams is proving to be quite trying, and Eiran fears he may succumb to the ancient parasite’s will, with each passing day.
