As Jack raced after the auroch, he jumped onto a tree and held onto a branch. After the auroch was at least a pace in front of him, he jumped onto the branch in front of him. Then pulling out his knife, he aimed it at the auroch.
The spear landed on the back of the auroch and it fell down. He jumped off the branch and walked towards it. He took out his earthblood powder and daubed it on its forehead and legs.
“May you rest in peace” muttered Jack. Then he dragged the auroch along to his shelter. His shelter was along the river, so it was easy to get there.
Once he got there, he laid the auroch on the floor and took his knife out. He cut a piece from the auroch, ate it, then searched for the bladder.
Once he found the bladder, he cleaned it, then took out a needle and sewed it into a water-skin.
He rushed out of the hut, quenching for his thirst as he drank the refreshing water and hobbled back into the hut.
Soon after he went to sleep, he heard rustling behind his shelter in the bushes. He woke in a dizziness and walked out of the shelter. What he saw, there was at least three men and two women. He recognized there was a girl too. Probably one summer older than him.
He felt lightheaded, and what made it worse was how one of the men quickly grabbed Jack as fast as he could and knocked him out.
